Genelec Studio Monitors India

The Genelec 8010 pair of studio monitors fits perfectly on my desk. The Senal attenuator alone cost $100 and it is worthwhile addition. It has a useful mute button that I use all the time. The speaker stands are way oversized but I view it as a throw in for future use since the pair of Genelec 8010 studio monitors and the Senal attenuator alone exceeds the cost of the bundle.

Genelec room correction technology is very effective in optimizing my monitors to better sonically fit my home untreated and unoptimized rooms. Outside of the interface with my Genelec speakers (8330A and 8351B) while running the calibration, I have my two GLM kits permanently connected to my monitors and use the matching wireless remote to control the volume at the speakers (Genelec tells me it is the optimal set up for their SAM speakers - attenuation happens right before amplification). When feeding the speakers with a digital signal I get the most transparent and detailed presentation I was ever able to achieve in my home after 20+ years of equipment swapping, tweaking, modding and building... I use Roon to play muisic from my ripped CDs and Qobuz in my 2 home stereo systems. It makes for very minimal hi end systems. You could hide everything but the speakers if you desire...

I have been using Genelec 8010s for 4 years as computer monitors but recent heavier listening overloaded the bass so I splurged on a set of 8030Cs. OMG, a new spring has arrived! A whole complex of midrange, bass, attack, separation has appeared. I never realized what was missing. I am overwhelmed. God, Genelec!

I have three different Genelec monitors (8010, 8020 and 8030). The 8020s are really the sweet spot with a super clean sound and more bass vs the 8010s. The 8030s are also amazing, but a bigger investment.

I don't live in an area where I can audition monitors. After many weeks of online research/Q&A, I decided that: 1. I would go with Genelec; 2. I'd have to try the smallest (cheapest!) option to set my benchmark; 3. I wanted the the 8000=series case and driver protection, bypassing the M-series; 4. I would purchase at B&H, where the service is second to none. I love these things, but have elected to move up the Genelec driver-size food chain. For a smaller room, the 8010, or the 8020, are really apex products. The L-base table stand completes their small-space perfection. Genelec = top-quality construction and features, with playback detail, transparency and imaging that leaves me thinking my home hifi is mostly nonsense. Note: The method I found for determining I needed more speaker: Read: B&H'shttps://www.bhphotovideo.com/explora/audio/tips-and-solution/studio-monitors-nearfields?BI=572&kw=_inurl%3Awww.bhphotovideo.com/explora&c3api=0980%2C106232570693&gclid=CIjmjuyv0tICFQYMaQodv5IACQ And, listening on the 8010's to Sonic Sense's Genelec library. The 8010's made quick work of sorting the sonic differences/capabilities of the woofer range/integration, and this is testament to how well the 8010's can play monitor.

I have an audio lab and I use some Genelec near field powered monitors through a patch bay. I needed to keep everything balanced to the monitors, so this did the job nicely. The pot has a very good feel and the mono and mute buttons come in handy.

Fantastic for the studio monitors.

Yes, Genelec are pricey and yet, it's difficult to compare them to any other studio monitor. The clarity and consistency of their reproduction is overwhelming. I notice now details in songs I heard for many years, that I never noticed before. Highly recommended.

I run and operate a busy color suite in South Florida. As a full-time Colorist my first and only concern is helping my clients achieve their vision by making their film and video projects look color perfect.But.I recently wanted to add big theater sound. But - how to do that on a budget, and within the physical limitations of a medium size color suite. Enter Genelec. The 7040A Studio Subwoofer by Genelec is the perfect companion for the 8010's. Easy to set up. Easy to calibrate for your needs. I will always remember my first Genelec moment. As my client's movie trailer played on my color monitor - the 2.1 sound blew me across the room. Close your eyes and you won't believe that this kind of sound is coming out of speakers this small. The 7040A Studio Subwoofer is the key to it all. That - my friend - are the Pros. The Cons? Only one, I can think of: the dip switches. I'm used to volume controls - so it took a bit more fiddling around than I thought I would need to get the sound the way I wanted. The manuals for both speakers and Genelec's website come up short on the kind of help that I needed. It took a little time. But once I understood the dip switch ecosystem - I was good to go.That said - the 7040A Studio Subwoofer by Genelec is a great buy. And, combined with the 8010's - you have one POWERFUL 2.1 audio system. That. Should. Blow. You. Away.Best, Jim --------
