Generic Lithium Battery Charger

This lithium battery is very reliable.

I bought a used 5D Mark II. I bought a generic battery charger for it. The thing worked only a couple of weeks. So I opted for the Canon LP-E6. I had them for my old Canon 20D and 7D and never had a problem with them. Ever. So even though I've only had this one for a month, I'm confident I spent my money well. It's not a bargain if you waste your money. Go with the manufacturer's gear. It's less expensive in the long run.

There are just some things that you should not buy generic, this is one. If you purchase the battery grip, you'll need a second charger to charge both batteries at the same time to minimize your down time.

I have just received my new camera, generic battery and charger. Though I can't speak for it's length of service yet, it was a great alternative to the full price of an Olympus battery and gave me a nice, small charger as well. The new camera doesn't come with a charger. I have used generic extra batteries in the past and have found them to work about as well as the factory battery.

I love this charger. Had an older one that came with my 60D and finally grabbed another after the frustration of using a much slower charger as my second. This is the only one I've found that charges my LP-E6 batteries fast. It's output is 1.2 Amps vs other chargers that seem to only go as high as 800mA, but even though that's only 1.5 times the difference, it seems like my batteries charge 2 times as fast. It works best with true Canon LP-E6 & E6n batteries, tough. This newer version does better than my old model for charging generic batteries, like Watson, but I don't always get a full battery when the charge is complete (even if I keep the battery on longer). There's something in the way the generic battery and the charger communicate with each other that goes awry. When I put a charged generic battery into a device that gives me the actual percentage remaining on the battery, it initially reads 100%, but then will drop to something like 78% within a couple of seconds.

This manual flash has everything I need and especially like the lithium battery. just bought a second unit.
