I tried a generic battery for both of my canon video recorders. One did not charge and the other drained quickly while using. I returned them both and bought the largest Canon battery. The generic battery charged to 176 minutes but the Canon battery (same size as generic) charged to over 230 minutes. Definitely a more reliable battery. 5 |

It lasts all day. It's expensive, but I've been burned by generic batteries too many times to risk it. I also love the built-in battery meter that lets you know how charged it is with the push of a button. It does take several hours to charge though, so make sure to charge the night before. 5 |
