Genuine Epson 8350 Projector Bulb

I bought this about 6 months back and have been using it since then in my Home theater. This is great for ceiling mounting. This replaced my previous Epson 8350. The picture is bright even in the basic cinema mode when there is some outside light coming in. The projector is recognized as native 4K by Roku and any other components connected. First, I tried an Epson 4k model. It had brighter whites, but was not recognized as native 4K, and was huge in size. This projector is just half the size and weight, and has many convenient features and ports. The change from Epson 8350 was seamless, though the mounting hole positions are a bit weird. Overall, a great purchase for the price.

This is a genuine OEM package of an NEC lamp and filters. To save money, I originally purchased a 3rd party replacement lamp at less than half the price, and it seemed fine (if a little dim). Just how dim became ridiculously apparent when I happened to use a 2200-lumen projector which blew away the alleged 5000-lumen 3rd party bulb in brightness! Forget buying a cheap bulb -- if you bought a 5000-lumen projector, get the display you paid for with a genuine NEC bulb.

This was a move up from an Epson 5030ub, so bulb based 1080p to native 4K laser is quite the jump. I’m projecting on a 135” budget 1.0 gain grey screen and the colors, contrast and brightness are spectacular. I sit about 14’ away and the detail and sharpness of the image is so much better than what I was used to. I love that Epson for what it is but this is in a different league. Having only had the projector for a couple of weeks, I’m still playing with different settings and testing various 4K media with my Oppo so still have to spend more time with this to really get to know it. The only con I’ve noticed so far is it can crush some black detail in difficult scenes but I may be able to tease out some image with some adjustment tweaks, not a deal breaker for me but worth mentioning. Also, my old projector was supposed to have a similar lumen rating and had about 900hr on the bulb but this is significantly brighter. Haven’t put the laser past 60 (50 is default) and won’t need to unless I am keeping some lights on in the room. Last thing is it is much quieter than the old Epson and is mounted right above my head so that is also a big plus, hope it stays this quiet.

I just purchased a new 4K Epson projector for my home and as I have done for my previous home projectors, I always buy a spare bulb right away. I probably won't need if for at least three years, but just in case, I'll have it hand if it goes early. The price from B&H was the best out there and it clearly was an original Epson product. Here's hoping that I DON'T need it from some time to come.

This is the genuine ELPLP89 Replacement Projector Lamp that comes with your Epson 5040UB Projector (and maybe others in the Epson line - I'm not sure). B&H's price is the lowest around, even better than Epson itself on this item. Mine went right to work and replaced a bulb that Epson is going to replace for free, but I decided that having a back-up would be the clever thing to do so I don't have to wait a day or two or more for that replacement. This one works as well as the original (actually better since the original was obviously a lemon straight from the factory). B&H gave me two day shipping free and I had it on the second day after ordering. The one from Epson is coming ground and I might see it by Dec 23 if I'm lucky (I could have paid for quicker shipping of course). Overall I'm very pleased with this purchase and with B&H's amazing holiday shipping!!!

This product came in with everything that my husband needed to assemble it. It was all we hoped it would be and more! We have an Epson 8350 and reviewed quite a few mounts before deciding on this one. It is VERY sturdy, and flexible enough to fit all the holes. Best of all, it allows for EASY installation by one person. We would recommend this product to anyone that needs a flexible mount, especially if needed for the 8350! You will not be disappointed!!!

I’ve had an Epson powerlite Home Cinema 8350 for 12 years. The 3800 is much brighter. We can now watch with the shades open! I went back with Epson based on their quality. It’s too soon to know much more.
