I have other DIs with Jensen Transformers, and large red DIs with tubes. All are great and serve a purpose in the sonic arsenal of guitars and synths. I bought a pair of the Rupert Neve DIs for both stereo synths as well as sending recorded guitar to two amp heads for reamping. The tone of these is beautiful, full and very, very musical. The instrument/speaker switch is a real game changer for handling high output guitar heads. Electronic pianos sound warmer and fuller and less digital. You will not regret getting one (or two!) of these. I am very satisfied with my purchase and the service as always from B&H is second to none. 5 |

In 1969 I saw a solid-body electric guitar with a three-inch amplifier built into the face of the guitar. The tiny speaker was powered by a nine-volt battery inserted in the back of the instrument. Fantastic, I thought, why don't they make a suction-cup amp that sticks onto the face of the guitar? A zillion years later they did and it is fine. 5 |
