Gibson 1957 Classic Nickel Guitar Pickups Manual

I have to say that this is a sweet little guitar. It plays way above its price class and comes beautifully set up. I have more expensive Gibson and Fender guitars and this plays just as nice as they do. It doesn't have the premium feel of those guitars but it still feels right in a very basic way. It's light, handy and has a fast neck. This would be a great choice for a beginner, a guitar that is setup properly from the start. I've been playing for more than 50 years and find this little gem to be an awesome guitar that just happens to be cheap. Great instrument to mod but you can play it right out of the box.

Love the guitar! I especially love the sound of both single coiled pickups. Also the humbucker pickups sound great too!

Really enjoying this for my home studio. Tested by recording an acoustic guitar and it sounds much better than my acoustic pickups.

I bought the Viper 6.5-20x50 and put it on my Weatherby Vanguard. I had a nickel that’s right a NICKEL sized group after 6 shots!! Best purchase I’ve ever made.

I turned my mothers old slides from 1957 into digital photos that she could look at. She was THRILLED! I had fun looking at her old memories too!

Having been using Nikon cameras since the 70's, I have a number of classic manual focus F mount Nikkors. This is a relatively inexpensive alternative to Nikon's own adaptor to use these lenses on you Z. It is also very well made and has a precision fit on both sides. Be aware that there is no exposure communication at all between the lens and camera. I use the camera display's histogram to help set exposure. The Z's highlighting focus assist works well too. I've been having fun rediscovering the joys of my 50mm f1.2 and my 105mm f 2.5 again.

If you like manual focus lenses and you are looking for the APS-C equivalent of a classic nifty-fifty, this lens will not disappoint. I absolutely love it, and it has become the walk-around lens that lives on my X-T3. Amazing value for money in my humble opinion. Very sharp, minimal distortion, and good control of CA. It is somewhat heavy and bulky, but for the IQ delivered at this price point, this is a fault I'm willing to forgive.

I will start off with this, I am partial to manual lenses. Something about a manual lens takes me back to the first camera I used, my grandpas old Nikon 35mm SLR. I used it for all my film classes in college and still have it to this day! This lens is great there is something about a manual lens that let's you feel so much more in control than an auto focus lens. This lens is great and is always on my camera! I have others that I use for specific reasons, BUT, as an everyday walk around lens THIS IS IT. It's always the lens that I have to take off my camera body to use another and once I'm done it goes right back on. I use it on my Sony a7ii and it's a perfect match. It sharp, colors are amazing, not very big, and adds a nice classic look to a modern camera. If I had to for whatever reason could only keep one of my lenses this would be the one that I keep. PLUS f1.2 makes it a great low light lens for those late night outings. I believe this lens is worth every penny, and it basically got all of my pennies haha. Focusing is made very easy on the Sony cameras and it's built like a tank. I'm pretty sure this lens will out last all other camera bodies to follow. If you are looking for a great manual lens that takes sharp pictures, has great color rendition, and great contrast, combined with a classic look that's not to big or heavy on the Sony mirrorless system, then look no further!

Manual focus lenses are an absolute joy to use, and this classic from Nikon is no different. Who would think in the year 2020 you could still buy a brand new manual focus lens from one the biggest names in the camera business! Yeah it's a design that is over 30 years old, but why try to change when perfection was already achieved?
