This is one amazing piece of glass. Everything about it is stellar. It's sharp corner to corner, even wide open. The focal length doesn't lend itself well to portraits, but still got some nice shots of my daughters.. when I pixel peeped, their faces/eyes were SO SHARP... The Zeiss 3D effect is on full display- the bokeh is so buttery.. it is close to being a macro lens with how close it can focus... Straight out of the camera, I got some AMAZING landscape shots. The colors are just out of this world. Shooting straight into the sun, i got 0 flare. NONE. I can't say that about all my Zeiss glass, T* coating and all. Shooting foliage with high contrast background, I had to strain to see any CA at wide open, and stopping down to f/4 eliminated it completely. 5 |

This is one very nice piece of glass! I have been constantly amazed by the accuracy and clarity, corner to corner, of this lens. I have used it for street photography in a zone focus method, have found it is far better at macro-photography than I expected and landscapes have dimensionality I didn't expect. 5 |
