Think about the total control you have if you use your camera in manual model and measure the quality of light off the gray card. It elimantes the failure of the camera metering system that measures reflected light. So, your white snow becomes gray. With measuring the luminance of the light off your gray card, your snow is white. The gray card will give you perfect exposure.

But a beginner should add a 50mm prime lens IMO. Get the bulb cable for long exposures for maximum creativity. I have found manual focus useless compared to my film cameras, the autofocus just works.

This camera has exceeded my expectations. The image quality is excellent using the compact kit lens designed for the camera. The camera is small and light enough to carry when hiking and biking, and is ideal for the type of street photography that I enjoy doing. I particularly like the auto ISO feature, which enables manual control of the aperture and shutter speed in variable lighting conditions. There has been some criticism of the size and resolution of the EVF. However, I have found the viewfinder to be adequate for use when the lighting conditions make the viewing screen difficult to see. The size of the camera does limit the number of control buttons etc that can be placed on the outside of the camera, thus making it necessary to use menu options for some commonly used operations. There is some ability to customize the control buttons. My main grumble goes to the user manual, which could have been much more clearly written. It took me some time to use the manual to figure out how to carry out even some of the basic camera functions.

I got this set to use on my pinhole camera and have been pleased with the control they give me over what would otherwise be unmanageably short exposure with the manual pinhole shutter.

Having complete control of my of strobes at the camera is awesome. I shoot primarily in manual but Having the full TTL option available to me if I want it is a bonus. A great price point, well made and totally reliable. I've put it through it's paces over the last few weeks and not one misfire!! A no brainer if you use Godox Strobes.

I just received my K-mount Rokinon 10mm and to my surprise it has aperture control. You can have the camera control the aperture or manual. I'm loving the quality of the lens, it's built like a tank.
