i play acoustic guitar and sing, this offset gives me a clean look and room enough to play without banging into the stand ... a shure 55 tops it off perfectly :)

The size and especially the aspect ratio of this monitor makes it work very well as either a second monitor on a desk which you don't want to devote entirely to monitors, or for use in a non-office - guest room, corner of living room etc. - where you want a usable monitor which doesn't stand out. I've used it for both and drag it from one place to another fairly often. Which I would not do with a 16:9 monitor of any size.

You can notice isolation effect only placing your subwoofer on the Auralex Pad, you don't need to make your room acoustic.

I use two of these foam to raise the existing acoustic panels on my desk. Then I use two more pieces to separate the panels on my desk to give me more room for voiceover.

This acoustic foam filter does make a noticeable improvement in recorded sound if you are recording in a less than ideal environment. I would not depend on it to block out all environmental sounds (eg, barking dogs, lawn mowers), but it certainly enhances the sound quality in an otherwise untreated room. It's good to use it in a standard room because it will then dampen reflections without sounding too dead.

I have been using this mic to record acoustic guitar. On rhythm tracks I set it up on a stand about 24-30 away from the guitar, while using a Shure KSM137 at the sound hole, recoding two tracks at the same time. The room I am recording in is quite large with high ceilings, so the acoustics of the room are quite good for this type of set up. On finger picking or more lead type tracks. I move it closer in, pointed toward the bridge. In both roles the sound capture of the mic is neutral to a bit warm. It is doing exactly what I wanted to. Can't ask for more than that. Solidly built. I don't think you will get a better mic for the price. Of course B&H service is always excellent.

I own a small home studio and I'm in the process of completing acoustic treatment in the room. I decided to mount a distant ribbon mic high in the far corner of the room. To tame frequencies in that corner I built a 1' X 1' X 2 acoustic panel with 703 insulation, a wood frame and FR701 fabric. Rather than hang this panel I wanted to do a rigid mount from the ceiling. I had a number of Matthews MicroGrip arms and clamps but I needed two mounts: one for the ceiling and one for the back of the panel. The CAMVATE Mounts are a lifesaver! They allowed me to do the rigid mount that I envisioned. Of course you can't do pull ups on this, but the MicroGrip hardware allows me to angle and articulate the exact placement of the panel in a solid manner.
