I often record in my apartment or at the studio where I work - there is a ton of background noise like traffic, air conditioners, and creaky floors. The high pass filter for perfect for filtering those consistent background hums. Of course, a little fancy editing too. Arrived right in the delivery window, customer service from B&H is great as always. 5 |

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This has been a lifesaver especially during the summer when everyone is blasting their fans and air conditioners and risking outages. I’ve had my power go out multiple times in a span of a week and I had enough time to save everything I needed to. The size also helps as my small apartment is already pretty cramped. 5 |

I got a new furnace and central air unit and the Heating and cooling company that I won’t with offered the thermostat. I like how I can get up in the morning and turn the heat up and then get out of bed 5 |

I have a Meade etx 125 and tried many ways to get pics of what I was seeing. I tried the cellphone adapter, T mount/ring, mounting my Canon 80D to my telescope, even desperately holding a camera to the eyepiece and nothing ever came out consistently good. Last weekend I wasted 5 hours and 84 mosquito bites trying to get pics of Saturn and Jupiter, so I decided to buy this and see if it worked. I live around class 7 bortle skies, which is pretty bright and light polluted. This night, I was able to see Jupiter with the naked eye but Saturn was a strain and almost completely drowned out. I first found Jupiter in my eyepiece, then switched out with the usb camera on my laptop. Jupiter looked pretty good, but Saturn would not show up. I'm taking it out to darker skies this weekend and will try Saturn then. INSTRUCTIONS: The camera comes with several adapters. The one marked 023.2-031.75mm is the one you want for a 1.25 telescope eyepiece. It takes a tiny allen key (not supplied) to tighten it, which was a pain because it had me digging around to find one. It helps if you have a 2x barlow lens to fit the camera, but is not needed. A lot of people use a focal reducer to help get a wider field of view, since the camera shows a zoomed in area of the sky. Almost like using a 5 or 6 mm eyepiece, I'd guess. There is a software disk that comes with it, and it works okay and is easy to figure out. It allows you to take photos and video with the camera, so you can edit, stack or whatever you like later. You can also download SharpCap 3.0 for free as an alternate. Side note: you can use a USB Male to USB Female OTG Adapter and use an android cellphone or tablet to record on. Overall, It works pretty well and is great for a nightskynoob like me. These pics are from my first time using it last night, and it was very exciting to see on screen as I captured images and video. Give it a try! 5 |

It’s a great lens and a very good deal, I bought it to photograph the Jupiter and Saturn event and I was able to get good photos with it. I plan on using it for hiking to get deer and hawks and I will be photographing planes at air shows when they start up again. I get great shots of the moon too. 5 |

Excellent product, very good optics. We have seen Jupiter, 4 of its moons and the band of clouds and also Saturn with its rings in very good definition. Great eye piece. 5 |

Good construction, fit well in my hands, and are wonderful mounted on a tripod for extended viewing time. Observed the planet Jupiter and the brightness and color was awesome. Could see brown, orange, and yellow gold and it was beautiful. Could also easily see Jupiter's moon Io. Nice for terrestrial viewing too. Have scanned mountain sides looking for bears and sheep up to several miles away. Really a good value and lots of fun. Go for it! 5 |

Very good optics, Saturn and Jupiter the first night out looked great. Go to system works very well and alignments are easy. 5 |

MY SHORT REVIEW: This is a great Telescope, Mount and Tripod. It's a good size for portability, it has exceptional image quality, it's easy to use and is made of quality materials. MY LONG REVIEW: On my first night of good seeing and clear skies I was able to see fantastic views of a Waxing Crescent Moon, Jupiter and at least 3 of it's moons and a tiny red spec called Mars. My first set up and SkyAlign(ment) took about 10 minutes (assembly, lining up the star pointer and the scope, leveling the tripod, typing in location and date info, 3 star align). The moon practically fills the field of view of the included 25mm Plssl eyepiece. And although Jupiter was clear, a shorter focal length eyepiece or barlow lens will be needed for a larger, and probably dimmer, image. My location in the city surrounded by trees in my back yard didn't allow me to see any deep space objects, so I'm looking forward to finding some nebulas and galaxies. I was originally thinking about getting the 6 or 8 NexStar SE but I was persuaded to get the 5 after doing a lot of research on viewing in the city and the fact that the 4 and 5 NexStar SE telescope tripods have an Equatorial Wedge feature that the 6 and 8 models do not have. This is important for long exposure astrophotography and that is something I may want to try in the future. I also used the scope to see distant buildings since Catadioptrics can be used for terrestrial viewing as well. But be aware that although the view is top-up corrected with the mirror star diagonal, it's not left-right corrected as it would be with a prism diagonal. I also read many reviews stating that an external power supply in conjunction with the 8 AA batteries will last longer. The AA batteries being used for those rare times the power cord is pulled out accidentally. So far I feel that this is a great investment for myself and my family to enjoy astronomy. Clear Skies! 5 |
