These headphones have many good reviews from pros who use studio headphones for mixing and editing, many recommend M40x rather than the more expensive models. I am not experienced enough to evaluate them like a pro, but I will say that they seem to pick up sound very accurately - they are not noise cancelling though, but I think noise cancelling headphones are a lot more expensive. If you have a small head (like I do) they fit perfectly and are very comfortable. The included coiled and longer cables are a nice bonus. 5 |

If you are mixing music, don't second guess yourself and end up returning the HD650's for a pair of the HD600's. The 600 is for mixing on. You cannot mix in the 650's. The 650's have a very wide sound stage that isn't natural and a very enhanced low end and high end and scooped upper midrange which makes them sound too good not very far from accurate or flat. The HD600 is also way better than the Focal Spirit headphones. The HD280 would be my second choice. The HD600 has just a bit more detail and a more accurate sound stage. The HD280 is a little more mono sounding compared to the HD600. They both have a very accurate frequency response and I have had extremely good luck working with both sets of headphones. They are both way better than anything from Sony or AKG or Beyerdynamic or Focal or any of the other companies but do listen to them all for yourself. B&H has a great listening station down in New York and the staff there are very helpful in getting you the chance to hear all the headphones in person. They have most of the really top popular models on their listening station and it's well worth your time to listen to them all like I did before you make your decision. 5 |

These are fantastic headphones once you get them broken in. I use them daily for audio editing and some mixing. They are extremely comfortable and have very clean, clear sound that allows me to pickup on edits or problem frequencies better than when I monitor through my mains, though they won't beat a good room and good monitors for mixing. I will say that they are very large. Much larger than the Sennheiser HD600. One reason I got these headphones is that they are much easier to drive from normal pro equipment when compared the HD600 and HD650. I no longer need to carry a headphone amp with me just to do some basic editing. Most audio interfaces seem to do a good job driving the K701s. 5 |

Affordable and good quality kit - - very much enjoying these headphones for monitoring live sound and mixing at home. Sound volume is a little bit lower than some others I have used, but the quality is very good. 5 |

These headphones are the best! If you are thinking about an audio career and need to get some headphones to start mixing or monitoring live music, these guys will be you best investment. The sound that it produces its amazing clear and crispy. This are not headphones that modify your music like BEATS or BOSE. What you hear with these guys is what the producer and artist want you to hear. They don't put an emphasis on low or high frequencies. At first they will be a little stiff. DON'T PANIC! just stretch them for a couple of days and you will be good to go. I use these guys to monitor conference meeting recordings, when I am mixing for the band at church and also just for listening my favorite music like Jazz, Country, Rock and even some Michael Jackson. Overall, these guys are a great investment! They sound amazing, feel comfortable and look good! 5 |
