Good Microphone For Studio Recording

I bought this microphone for my project recording studio needing something affordable with a warm rich tone. I was not disappointed. The V67G has a FET preamp inside the body and it has a very tube-like nature to it; the harmonic content is rich but not in an obtrusive way. The bass proximity effect is a little over-powering at times, but by simply using some bass roll-off in the EQ stage of the channel strip can help that. The looks of the microphone are impressive as well - I think my clients will appreciate that as well as the tone of the recordings through it. I've so far used it on vocals only but I definitely see myself using it on acoustic guitars as well. This particular model was not billed as being able to handle high SPL very well, so I might not go to the extent of using it to mic my 4x12 cab but it's primarily designed for vocals. The price is incredible and well within reach of any studio budget, large or small.

The Shure SM57 is a world class microphone. It's been around for ages and, while that doesn't have to mean much because some mics such as the SM58 I find to be always an inferior option, I think with the 57 Shure have really nailed it. I bought this for a recording session for an acoustic guitarist I work with. The mic sounded great on each guitar he brought in. Or rather the guitars all sounded great through it. Naturally you'll want to do additional processing for a polished recording but this mic offers such a wonderful sound on all it captures. Just a little EQ & compression along with any time based effects will really make your source material shine. I now primarily use this as a vocal mic live and in the studio. It works wonderfully for that as well. Live I use no additional processing and in the studio I get pretty effect heavy. In both situations it stands up. The Shure SM57 is at home in anyone's studio or live rig and I truly believe Shure will probably be manufacturing this microphone for all eternity with good reason.

I'm only a beginner when it comes to studio video recording, and am using it for marketing and business videos. I've been looking all over for a good boom mic stand that would allow me to raise a shotgun condenser microphone overhead and out of shot. This one works perfectly. This stand is sturdy. It seems like it could handle quite a bit of weight. Of course I didn't swing on it or anything to see what the max was, but it holds my microphone great, and that's all that mattered to me. I would recommend this stand.

Needed a microphone to record missing assets that were originally recorded at a professional studio in NYC. I was surprised by the quality of the recording and range of options this mic has to offer. My co workers couldn't even tell the difference in recording. Definitely worth the price.

I needed a microphone for basic recording in my studio. I found this mic stand to be perfect. Balancing out a nice range of height and sturdiness, not to mention cheap! Recommended.

I purchased this microphone to use in a home recording studio to record myself for the purposes of practice and make audition tapes. So far it has accurately captured the sound my instrument (double bass, acoustic guitar). After reading a lot of reviews I chose this microphone because it seemed to represent a good value and would be an inexpensive microphone to invest it while I learned some recording basics and figured out my DAW. I don't have very much experience as an engineer, but I do have years of experience in the studio as a professional musician, so while I can not compare it to many other microphones, I can say I am pleased with the sound I am getting in my humble little studio, especially for the price. If you are like me, on a budget and not really sure where to start with condenser mics you can't go wrong with the MCA SP1. Good value.

Very solidly built microphone. You really can't go wrong with these, as they can suit everything ranging from home studio recording to podcast recording to skyping with friends. I would highly recommend a pop filter as well as a shock mount. Also, the stand is quite flimsy and I wouldn't trust it.

This is my first microphone purchase. So far I am pleased with the Yeti. Great sound from what my novice ears can pickup. I am recording a book for a friend in order to post it on their website. Hoping to get as close as I can to studio quality without the studio. I actually like that it's bigger, it at least feels more sturdy. One thing I am still trying to figure out is why, when I am not recording, after about 30 seconds the headphones go out (when plugged directly into the Yeti). When I am recording it still works great, but I wonder how this would function if I were to do something (like a podcast) that I wasn't necessarily going to record. So yeah, sounds great to me, easy to use, doesn't feel or look cheap. Like it!
