Lewitt makes quality mics. When we purchased these Lewitt matched instrument mics, we planned on using them as room overhead studio mics. After opening the sleek black packaging that they came in, we plugged them in tried them out. It had been gently raining outside when we did our first recording test and we used 1 acoustic guitar. After recording you could hear the bright and crisp acoustic guitar and the rain perfectly. These mics are so good, the gentle rain sounded like a torrential downpour. We will definitely be buying Lewitt mics again in the future.

I bought this mic mostly for voice recording, but it also sounds great with my acoustic guitar.

For recording I tend to look for single-pattern mics that serve a specific purpose. The 240 pro records acoustic guitar very well and, perhaps due to its slightly smaller diaphragm, the guitar seems to occupy its own place in the mix without me having to screw around with the eq. Its a good solid microphone at a good price and it has its own sound which I like a lot.

I bought these mics for my semi-professional studio about a month ago. In that time i have used them on vocals, acoustic guitar, and electric guitar. They make mellow vocals warm and sultry while acoustic guitars shine. However if your recording a loud singer or heavy vocals I'd suggest something else. What first attracted me to these mics was the price. two ribbon microphones for such a low price? They must be junk. But after doing several weeks of research and talking to people that had them I decided to make the purchase. I'm so glad I did! The only downside to these mics is that they are ribbons and the user must be careful in handling them so as not to damage the coils. So avoid plosives when doing vocal takes, this is where pop-filters come in handy. Cascade Mics definitely stepped up.
