Going into this purchase, I knew that for the money I wouldn't be getting mind-blowingly incredible headphones. And the M30x's aren't. But for the price they are really, really good. The sound is crisp?no fuzz, no distortion. Very reliable lows, mids, and highs, which for good monitor phones is par for the course. (For the record, a reliable low isn't a earth-shaking thump, but rather a smooth low tone that lets you really hear the range. These headphones deliver.) Everything I've played through these has been very satisfying. Plus, they're comfy. I can keep them on for an hour+ without a problem. My only nitpick is the cord length. Again, they are monitor headphones, so the cord length is probably to be expected. I'd pay the 2 bucks extra for a velcro cord binder for those of us who don't need quite so much cord. It would be nice to throw something like that in, but with sound quality this good, not a big deal at all. And with these sounding as good as they do, I'll be saving up my money for the 40 or 50. Then we'll talk mind-blowing. 5 |
