Good Music Recording Software

I have used Maxell CD-Rs for recording music in the past and the last batch had a lot of duds. Using different software and machines didn't help. So I tried these Verbatims and so far, so good. When I get to the last one without any problems, then I'll be able to recommend them without hesitation.

Excellent addition to my equipment. Easily started recording, and with available software was able to isolate music from a continuous recorded file, make EQ changes and be pleased with the results.

I have found Verbatim CD-Rs for Music Recording to be a reliable choice for music recording but have been unable to find them locally recently. B & H shipped the discs promptly and at a very reasonable price and also included a sales receipt which many online shippers fail to do. I will order from this company again when more discs are needed.

At the lowest price I could find for a controller keyboard, the Korg nanoKey2 is very impressive. It only has twenty-five keys, but the octave shift buttons allow you to change the octave up and down, giving reach to the full range of notes for electronic music. It has neat pitch bend, sustain, and vibrato buttons, too. It resembles a computer keyboard in the flatness and shape of the keys and is even smaller than a computer keyboard. It works great with my electronic music software. It even picks up musical accent (velocity); so the harder you press the keys, the louder it is, and the softer you press the keys, the quieter it is. The only thing that would make it better is if it had sounds of its own. However, it serves its purpose as a Musical Instrument Digital Interface controller well. It comes with a software code so you can download some electronic music programs from the Internet; so if you do not have music software already, you can get some to use with the nanoKey2. The cable that it comes with stays in the socket very tightly and it will not fall out so easily. This is good so it will not disconnect on accident. Overall, the Korg nanoKey2 is a good buy for being able to listen to, experiment with, and record sounds in audio software without having to use the computer mouse and computer keyboard all the time to program commands and test out sounds. It is light-weight and its slim-line design is very convenient and saves space. It would be good for use with a laptop on the go. I find it a nice addition to my desktop home studio. It is perfect in function for its size. Very neat.

These headphones, for the money you spend, are a very good investment for any audiophile. I use them for listening to both digital and analog (tape and LP's) music as well as watching Television late at night. For music, being an open back design, they really shine. The open back allows one to really open them up and when you do they are just a real treat to listen to. For studio recording I would say go with a closed back style to prevent sound bleed. But for playback at the console they are an excellent choice. I have pushed these up to about 55 watts rms and the open back prevents the damage to your ears that a closed back would do. I would recommend them to anyone that's on a budget because in my opinion there's nothing on the market that will rival them. They are comfortable, require a short break in period and the sound reproduction is excellent plus there's no thump, thump, thump of an over compensative xtra Bass feature. I play these flat. I am a studio engineer and know that before a recording is released the mix has gone through alot and is as good as the engineers and producer wanted so I feel that xtra bass is just a way to mess up a good mix.

I use this with my H6 for live music recording and it makes it much easier to place the Zoom mic capsules in a good spot. The construction quality is solid. A little pricey for what it does and I could always use a little more length but it makes my life easier and I'm glad I made the purchase.

I needed a set of good headphones for my computer. I do a lot of music recording on my computer, so I changed my sound card and needed some headphones. Bought these and what a difference! very comfortable to wear. Of course, if you wear them for a long period of time, it will be uncomfortable, but I like them. The sound of my music is great, the bass is outstanding. Might invest in some covers for them in the future. I would recommend them to anyone who is looking for a good headset.
