I use this in combination of the iOS phone and Google Home app. I have a PLEX server set up to cast movies. I also am able to cast Showtime via Google Home to watch Homeland on Chromecast Ultra. It is faster to process the movie and no lag or synchronization problems because of the ethernet cable. Recommended if you have Plex or just use Google Chrome to watch shows a lot. If you have a TV that is CEC compatible and enabled, you can launch Google Home from the iPhone and it will automatically start both Chromecast Ultra and your TV with just the app. 5 |

I replaced my Google Nest Learning thermostat with the Ecobee Smart Thermostat. The main reason was because my smart home platform is Apple's Homekit and this thermostat integrates nicely with the Apple Home app. Installation was easy and the interface just makes sense over the Google Nest. Heat and coll schedule is easy to configure and once a one day schedule is created you are able to copy that schedule across the other days of the week if you want those days to follow the same schedule or you can create a custom schedule by the day based on your home and away schedule. 5 |
