Google Home Security Cameras Chromecast

I use this in combination of the iOS phone and Google Home app. I have a PLEX server set up to cast movies. I also am able to cast Showtime via Google Home to watch Homeland on Chromecast Ultra. It is faster to process the movie and no lag or synchronization problems because of the ethernet cable. Recommended if you have Plex or just use Google Chrome to watch shows a lot. If you have a TV that is CEC compatible and enabled, you can launch Google Home from the iPhone and it will automatically start both Chromecast Ultra and your TV with just the app.

I purchased the Chromecast Ultra as a companion to my Google Home. The Chromecast is attached to my AV receiver which allows me to cast audio and video commands via voice command to my AV system. The device works exactly as promised so I am quite please with it. Only difficulty was in figuring out how to send the commands from the Google Home to it. That was resolved via a very quick support call with Google (Hey Google, play song title on Spotify on Chromecast).

This is just the product you want for your home. It eliminates the need for those bulky and multiple cameras for your home security.

Chromecast devices are simply awesome. If you are a streaming household, it is so much faster to look things up on your mobile device and press the cast button in the app and put it on the screen. I can't tell you how many times I tell my wife, "Hey, check out this YouTube video." and then throw it up on the screen in a few seconds. All the naysayers that thing looking up content on your phone is stupid and can't believe the phone is your remote control just flat out don't get it. I have Android TV and a Roku television. I like set top boxes. But it is MUCH faster to get content on my tv using a mobile device and casting then using a remote control with a set top box. Also, the voice integration to start up a movie on say Netflix or a song on Google Play Music with my voice via my Google Home is just awesome. I have the Ultra hooked up to my Roku 4K TV even because we rent or buy Google Play Movies and you can watch them in 4K with the Chromecast Ultra but not with Roku.

Purchased the D1 to improve the sound of Google Chromecast audio "puck" - connected them together with a Google short fiber cable. Well worth the price of the D1 because Spotify now sounds musical.

Using this to have a newer 4K Chromecast with Google TV and a DVD player so I can run just one HDMI cable to my ceiling-mounted projector. Works great! Switches automatically, and I like that I don't have to plug it into power or fuss with anything.

I have a total of 5 cameras on this system up and running on the Lorex Smart Home Security Center . It is "basically " straight forward to get them running..... but not easy. you need to have passwords for each and identifying "names' of each. It is best to have all this info in a note on your phone so you can copy and paste it later in all the needed locations rather than figure out each one in real time
