Great Camera For Backpacking

It's a great little tripod, that can actually hold a fair amount of weight, all things considered. I use it backpacking and hiking with my RB67, which is a beast of a camera, and it acquits itself very well. The way it can get low to the ground by positioning the center column at a right angle to the body and splaying the legs is a neat trick--though admittedly this is one time the heavy camera is too much for the poor thing. But it is a travel tripod, after all. 5 |

Picked this up for backpacking with my 5dmkII and one single lense. Works great and protects the camera in my bag should I take a spill. 5 |

great solution for lightweight protection for my Sony Alpha 6 on a backpacking trip. Didn't want the bulk or weight of my regular bag, this fits the camera nicely (not too tight, easy to get the camera out quickly, carabiner great for attaching the camera to my backpack strap for easy reaching) 5 |

Great little tripod, good size to be able to carry with you hiking or backpacking. Seems to be pretty good quality and strong enough for a DLSR (D750) + 24-120mm lens if I am careful. One thing to watch out for is the tiny ball head, while being very smooth and fine once you get used to it, does not have a separate 'tension' knob - so if you loosen the main knob too much without holding onto the camera it will drop down. Though, I am guessing this is fairly common with really small ball heads like this. Much better than trying to balance your camera on a backpack/jacket/rock or something because you don't have a tripod with you! Overall I am happy so far and would recommend this. 5 |

A great camera, and the 12-45 F/4 lens creates very sharp images. I do most of my photography backpacking in the mountains where we carry everything, and hike 5-8 miles a day, with typically 3000' of elevation gain. So, I wanted a small/light camera. This fits the bill. And the IBIS is so good, unreal! 5 |

I bought this for a backpacking trip because my capture clip really drags on my shoulder over longer hikes. My camera was balanced and accessible from my chest strap (fits on the chest strap of a backpacking pack and the waist strap of a day pack). The carabiners are a little too small to get on/off the strap easily, but that may be intentional because if you absent-mindedly unclip your pack, the pod cannot pass over the plastic clip meaning your camera can't slide off onto the ground. It didn't get wet but I had it at camp for days with some desiccant packets inside and never had humidity issues. The large just fits my Nikon Z6 and 24-200mm lens *with* the lens hood on. I also had a hand strap attached which made the camera easy to grab and pull out of the bag. It's also great for when you need to put your camera into your pack - it's lightly padded and I'm hopeful the water resistance is legit because I've had hydration bladders leak on multiple occasions. It's well thought out and multifunctional, I'm pleased with it. 5 |
