H4N Pro Hiss With Condenser Microphone
Mark the video guy | 2024-06-01 04:51:12 |
I was getting a lot of hiss from my Zoom H4N built in preamp. This device allowed me to set my Zoom record level at 30db instead of 80db providing much cleaner audio from a Senheiser shotgun mic 5 |

Have used this with a Zoom H4N when I have a dynamic mic on one channel and a condenser on the other. Also with a Blackstar Super Fly when we want to use a condenser for vocals. Solves problems, both indoors and out. Great! 5 |

Use this to hold up my Blue Condenser Microphone. It's impressive because the microphone is extremely heavy #sweepstakes 5 |

The most important thing to me about a good microphone... it should not introduce hiss or noise when there is no sound in the room. This mic has a very quiet noise floor. 5 |

used to plug a Rode microphone into a Zoom h4n. Worked perfectly. 5 |

I used this microphone with my Canon 60D DSLR. It captures great sound. Unfortunately the amplifier used in the Canon adds a fair bit of background hiss. I'm able to filter most of this out during editing, so it hasn't created a huge issue. I tried it out connected directly to my MacBook and was quite pleased with the quality without the hiss from the Canon. 5 |

Great shotgun microphone. Clean sound at an affordable price. I've shot two projects on it so far and I am very happy with it. I used this for film projects not music so I can only speak on dialogue recording right now. The low cut filter worked great and helped reduce unwanted sound before post production. The review posted on 5/19/2015 mentions a hiss when plugged into a dslr. That hiss is due to the camera's weak pre amp. It's not a fault of the mic. Spend a few bucks and get a decent preamp. You won't find a dslrs with built in preamps good enough to handle a quality mic. The primary function of a dslr is photography and that's where manufacturers spend their dollars, not on sound recording. 5 |
