I took this lens to the beach on my 18-200 and it worked great at getting rid of the glare off the water. Low cost and gets the job done!

Alright, I will give you a very simple yet informative review of this filter, because I thought this would be the only filter I needed. First of all, this is an excellent quality filter. It is perfect for creating the silky-water effect waterfalls in a low-med light forest, for slightly trimming down light levels in general, for blurred car lights on the highway at night, etc, but this is NOT the filter if you expect to get an extended exposure past 1 second if you are in bright daylight (hiking trails/beach). A couple weeks ago, I got this as my first ND filter & I went to the beach with the intention of getting a long exposure of the beach waves in order to make the silky-water effect - using ISO 100 & my max aperture (f/32), the longest exposure I could obtain of the sand/beach was 0.5 seconds before the picture was blown out. Again, this is a great filter, but the 3 stop filter can only go so far. When I set up my tripod over a freeway overpass @ 9:30 at night this July 4th, this filter was perfect - using ISO 100 & f/5.6, I had a 13 second exposure, which allowed perfect blurred lines of all the traffic, without overexposing the light/colors. In low to medium-low light exposures, this filter is perfect, but for medium-long exposures, you need the 3.0 (10 stop) filter. Buy both, you will need them between differently lighted environments. See the attached pictures for yourself. Read my review of the 10 stop filter under the other filter's reviews. Hope this helped!

Perfect when you live at the beach. Saves intense glare from the water.

I use this mostly when we are at the beach. It cuts the glare on the water and keeps images sharp and colorful.
