I was a little skeptical before hand but after adding sets of GF50 Big Foot 50mm feet to my ProMediaGear TR 344L tripod and to an smaller Induro tripod and wow, what a difference they make when shooting indoors or outdoors on smooth surfaces. They are a great addition to any tripod that accepts 3/8"-16 accessories like spikes or feet for rocky surfaces. 5 |

This AP-600 replacement foot is a great replacement for the original foot on the RF 600mm f/4. I don't know why Canon doesn't design their lens feet with a built-in Arca groove. Just a couple small nit-pics, not enough to lower my rating: the underside of the handle is smooth, it would feel more secure in hand carrying the lens if it were textured. Also, a little lip on the end of the handle would also feel more secure and maybe keep your hand from slipping off the edge. It's shorter than Canon's foot, but that's by design so it can clear the end of the lens hood when reversed, and thus allow it to be closer to the lens body. It's just long enough to balance my lens on a gimbal. 5 |

Most foot replacements use an external tightening/loosening knob. This foot uses an Allen wrench, and I am so thankful because foot replacements with a hand-turning knob always get in the way when carrying camera and tripod over my shoulder. Once a foot is mounted it will stay put and who needs a hand-turning knob. Love it -- nice and compact and functional. I use them on Sony 100-400 and 200-600. 5 |

Compared to the original Canon or Kirk replacement feet, the RRS LCF-54 is my favorite. The RRS foot is taller which makes it easier to fit my hand in between the lens and the foot when using the foot as a handle. The RRS foot also has a more substantial feel being constructed from a solid block. The Kirk foot is a bit lighter and has a second dovetail for mounting a flash bracket or their LS-1 lens support. The Kirk is also an excellent choice and is less expensive than the RRS foot. Still, I found I prefer the feel of the RRS foot and the way it fits my hand when using it as a handle for the lens. 5 |

I ordered this not knowing that my ProMediaGear GKJr. Katana Pro Aluminum Gimbal Head came with its own plate. I'm glad I ordered this one because when I put the ProMediaGear one on my Sigma 150-600mm lens foot, the plate wouldn't go far enough forward. With the ProMediaGear plate on, I couldn't wrap my right hand around my camera (D850) - the plate was in the way. With the Desmond DPL-150 I was able to slide the plate forward enough to where it didn't interfere with my right hand. The DPL-150 has two little raised ends, that once butted against the lens foot, and plate tightened, the camera and lens do not budge at all when turning left and right. One thing to note is that my Sigma lens foot only has one screw hole, so that leaves the other screw to slide around. I put a stop to that by getting a compatible nut and tightened them. 5 |
