I didn't use the divider kit in a Pelican case, but rather as an organizer for my camera gear in an existing drawer. The flexibility of the kit really allowed me to get everything exactly as I wanted.

It's a drawer.

it is a good organizer for outdoor shooting. it is a well made product. missing not enough inserts, the two outside pockets the cover should be right across, there is room for improvement.

This lid organizer is really useful in my Pelican 1650. Before I added the organizer, many of my accessories were simply scattered among my other gear - which meant that I had to search for them (particularly the smaller items) when I needed them. Now I can easily find them in the organizer. It's constructed reasonably well and I'm confident that my gear will be protected. I've attached a photo to give you a better idea of how I use it. The items listed below are found in the corresponding pockets: 1. Micro screwdriver kit, extra body/lens caps 2. Nikon DR-5 and ML-3 3. Lowepro CF card holder w/8 cards 4. Nikon MC-36, instruction manual, MC-21 cable 5. DK-5 eyepiece cover, terminal cover for D700(x2), terminal cover for MB-D10 (x2), CF card readers (x2) 6. EN-EL3e batteries (x2) 7. EN-EL3e batteries (x3) 8. Nikon D700 manual 9. Nikon SC-28 remote cord (x2), travel charger for EN-EL3e batteries 10. Small pocketed clipboard/portfolio, tabbed folder with model releases and wedding contracts 11. EMPTY (so far) 12. Small note pad and pen 13. Two pens, highlighter, and Lens Pen

This is a great case. It holds all of my gear and more. Inside I can fit a 70-200 2.8 II, Black Rapid Strap on top, 50 1.4, 17-55, 24-105, 5D3, 40D, room for another body and still enough space for a flash, grips, hoods, and various accessories. I recommend getting a Pelican 1519 lid organizer to hold all the cables, batteries, triggers and other smaller accessories. The case doesn't just look well made, it is well made. The hinges are sturdy and secure, the locks snap loudly and securely in place, and the metal lock holes are study as well. There is slight flex on the middle of the cover if you were to sit on it or have something fall or press against it so be careful when organizing your gear inside, especially when you have the lid organizer because the cover foam will not fit in between the organizer and gear on bottom. The only thing that kind of bugs me is how the dividers look as if they were rushed when put together. The pieces of velcro on the dividers were cut unevenly with some strips having extra fabric sticking out. It makes me a little worried that one day the threads might come apart. Secondly, it might just have been compressed for a long time, maybe not, but some dividers seem stiffer or thicker than others. Even so, all my gear is held in very snug and I trust this case. If needed, I would definitely buy another.

I carry my camera on a shoulder sling that has the camera hanging off the hip. This cover works well to cushion it from the jostling it gets when I'm hiking and I would get another for my next camera. -All the buttons and dials continue to be fully accessible. -Handling the camera with the new cover is unaffected. The semi soft rubber provides good grip. -Fitting the cover takes about a minute and requires the removal of the lens. -The kit includes two clear sheets that fit the display on the back. I'm sure they fit but I've decided not to use them.

I've got a couple spare MX185 cardioid capsules that I used with a pair of MX202 hanging microphones, and in order to use this with my wireless system, just needed the cable. Comes nicely packed with bubble wrap and a protective cover from the factory, just pull off the cover and the capsule screws right on.

You can never have too much space in a rack drawer.
