Hard Disk Drive Failure Dell

The hard drive in my Dell 620 (Seagate ST31000524AS) was failing ... causing slow operation and repeatedly throwing reports of disk errors, bad sectors, etc. despite my attempts at repair using a variety of programs. After finally getting a successful disk image from the original drive using Macrium Reflect, I swapped the drives and loaded the disk image onto this replacement. On restart my PC booted right up from this drive and it's been running like new since.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] After the fifth BD burning, the drive failed to complete a burn. I first attributed the failure to the disk but after the second consecutive failure and not recognizing the drive with BD disk, I knew has to be the burner. A cycle of disabling/enabling the drive didn't resolve the issue. A bit of research turned swapping SATA ports could be the fix. In my case it was so. The unit has the latest firmware. Not certain if burner or stem is the issue.

I just added the WD 4TB Elements External Desktop Hard Disk Drive to my� back up solution (6 hard drives) and Windows 10.� I disconnected the power and USB cable from a full WD hard drive and replaced it with this new drive and fired it up. It works great, just like I would expect from Western Digital.

I was pleasantly surprised with this disk. Easy to get going, and a lot faster than my old hard disk drive.

i was getting a hard drive failure Hb6 first cloning attempt didn't work I defragmented the old drive. The second time i had a solid red light after 3 hours i installed the new hard drive in the computer and it works fine boots right up every thing seems fine So IDK I am going to try it again on another computer everything can be replaced except twenty years of pictures thanks

My Flir DVR Security Camera system had a hard drive failure after several years. I got this as a replacement. Opened DVR Case, unplugged 2 cables on hard drive, removed 4 screws holding the drive, swapped out the old drive for the new and reversed order to put it back together. Formatted drive with DVR and my system is back up and running perfectly now!

Seagate has been my go-to hard drive for several years. They have always worked great and I have never had a failure. This drive is reasonably priced and is a fast drive. Highly recommend this hard drive.

I need CD blanks to first backup my computer, in case of external/internal hard drive failure. And to copy/burn and to store relevant data. So I choose Verbatim because they are highly reliable and I have had success with them before.

This hard drive has been installed for a couple of weeks, and no issue yet. Runs fast, is reliable, was easy to install. I paid a bit more for the PRO model in hopes it will have less chance of failure (Which I understand is inevitable) Although I have not experienced hard drive failure. I make it a practice to replace mine after about 8 years anyway. This HD was added because I ran out of space on my video editing drive and needed another. I had available ports in my tower so added this one.

This works perfect with my Sony FX1. I'm able to mount both my mic and my hard disk drive to the shoe for easy access and great performance.
