The TP-Link AV600 Powerline Adapter is a little jewel for extending a wired Internet connection. Simply plug one unit into an AC wall outlet near a router and the other unit into an AC wall outlet in the area where one wants a wired Internet connection. Then, connect the unit by the router to the router with an Ethernet cable. Next, connect the other Powerline adapter to the device, e.g. computer, with another Ethernet cable. Now, one has a wired connection to the router. It works seamlessly by using the electrical wiring in one's building. 5 |

This provides me the hard-wired connection I need for camera trigger, without having to stand right next to the camera. The only issue is - and it's true for any long cable like this, not just this one - is that you have to be careful not to pull on it, because this will juggle the camera on the tripod. I recommend securing it to the bottom of the tripod leg, so any pulling occurs there, not at the camera. Unfortunately, this shortens the effective reach of the cable by about 5 ft.. You may want to get two cables and daisy chain them, so you get enough reach to be useful. 5 |
