Headphone Sony Extra Bass Review

This headphone are a giant step up from my Sony MDR-7506's in terms of sound. I used the Sony's mainly for tracking/editing voice over and I will probably still use them for that. The Shure's are tonally quite different. The Sony's emphasize mids to an unnatural degree but make them great for finding and revealing mistakes in audio. I am not sure I would use the Shure's for reference as they do have a boost in the upper bass area away from the Harmon Target. Otherwise they are spot on and sound great with most music. There have been a few occasions where this bass boost can muddy up some songs but this is fairly rare with what I listen to. At first they clamped my head pretty tight but with some use they are becoming very comfortable. For a closed back design I think these are one of the best options for price/sound quality. Satisfied!

Hook this up to a Roland digital piano. The coiled cable is very useful. I don't have to take it off if I switch piano pieces. I noticed the difference in sound from the old Sony headphone I used before. Senal sound is even, does not hear lots of bass. At first I said that I missed my Sony, but then I started to get the hang of it. I began to notice that I am hearing somewhat close to the sound that the piano actually is producing. Compared this again with Beats, that headphone has too much bass - does not sound natural to me. This Senal headphone is comfortable and construction seems solid. My son uses this when he creates his own music. Listened Pandora on a Mac - I like the sound and no complaints there. I hear all the instrument used in the accompaniment. For the price, you can never go wrong. I will try the SMH-1000 once it goes on sale. I will give it 5 stars.

It is my pleasure to be the first person on B&H to write a review for such amazing product from SONY. I am using this headphone with the NW-WM1Z and the TA-TH1ES. The sound quality is out of this world good packed with more bass and treble than any other headphone that I have used. The bass and clear and deep. The mid is very clear and vibrant. The high is strong and clear, but it is sometimes too sharp (might be my music). If you are not sure how good this product is or if you want to try out this headphone, simply order it, if you don't like it, return as soon as possible. Very good sounding headphone. Not for bass heads. Bass is clear, you can make out the pitch of drums and basses very well. Sounds good with a phone or laptop, much better with my expensive dac headphone amp. Big, not for portable use. Ear cups swivel to get best fit. Our heads are not perfectly square, are they?

Set up was a snap & it connected to my Sony SRA-XB43 Extra Bass Bluetooth speaker seamlessly! The sound is AMAZING! So happy!!

I bought TWO Sony MDR-ZX110AP Extra Bass Smartphone Headsets (Black): one for me, one for another family member. They don't seem particularly stout in terms of build quality, but I wouldn't call them flimsy, either. We don't abuse our belongings so I have no doubt these will last us a long time. For the price point, the build quality is what I'd expect...but the sound quality FAR exceeds my expectations from the highs all the way down to the lowest lows. Can't go wrong with these.

I purchased the Sony extra bass smartphone headset to use for work purposes and only wanted to spend around $20. I am using these headphones for medical transcription and they are perfect in that respect. They have a good fit and are comfortable to use for several hours at a time. If you're looking for a pair of headphones under $20, I would recommend these.
