We previously had an Ecobee nut needed a newer version when we went to heat pump.

This is my second ecobee thermostat. This one works great with my heat pump. I particularly like the eco + feature.

I must say, this is one of the best purchases I’ve made for taking care of my cars. I have 3 cars that I wash on a regular basis and I honestly can’t believe how much time this dryer saves me! Drying time is about 10 to 15 minutes and very little touch up required. One really nice thing I’ve noticed is I don’t have to clean the windows with glass cleaner. They’re good to go with a quick wipe of a clean towel. It’s mounted on the wall near the garage opening. The hose is long enough to get around any car comfortably without taking the revolution off the wall. I honestly didn’t have to give up much real estate in an already crowded garage. The hose holder worked perfectly and doubles as a holder for my car charging cord as well. If I had a complaint, it would be the hose could have been made of a better material. I have vacuum hoses that seem more scratch friendly than the hard plastic hose provided. Sometimes you notice you’re touching lower panels by accident. I use hearing protection when using the revolution. It’s not the noise of the motors, it’s the noise from the air hitting tight areas. I find that the “whistling” when you get too close, maybe doing say window trims or mirrors is really loud. This also is doubling as a compressor in some ways. I find myself using it to blow out the garage instead of using compressed air. Actually does a better job too. Even used it on the driveway! The heat is such a blessing! I’ve always struggled with dampness due to washing in the evening. Not anymore, once I hit an area with the dryer, it stays dry now. No dew! Can’t believe I’ve struggled all these years and could have fixed this so easily. Let me finish by saying, although pricy, worth every penny! Buy it here, best price as long as you’re not in a rush to get it. Took about 2 weeks but worth the wait.

I thought my review would focus on the wax finish. A couple of reviews here have (heavily) marked the bag down for the waxy residue getting onto hands and gear, and warn you not to buy it if you go out in hot weather. I disagree. My F-3X Ruggedwear has been my main bag for nearly 6 years. I live in a hot dry climate in Australia, yet I have never had a problem with waxy residues getting onto me or my gear. I am not denying the experience of the two complainants, but their bags had excess wax, either from the factory or otherwise. This is easily removed (ironically, by ADDING heat), as described by another owner below: Rinse the bag with warm water, used a blow dryer to soften the wax and wipe off with a rag. The wax is stubborn and doesn't dissolve with solvents like oil does. The only thing that loosens the wax and makes it easier to wipe off is heat. A blow dryer would have worked just fine. After the wash, put it in the dryer on low heat with a towel. Remove it every 15 minutes or so and wipe it down with a rag. The wax comes off the warm bag easily. Generally the bag is an all-round winner. It holds a LOT of gear for its size, probably due to the minimalist padding. You will need to make other arrangements to carry a tripod, however.

Replaced a brand new unit from competition that claimed that it support Heat Pump but did not have lockout capability. Never buy a thermostat for a HP without capability to fine tune lock out. Would recommend making usage of the entire screen to show equipment running instead of having to go setting to see equipment running. The LCD has plenty of real estate for this. Ex: Heat 1 / Fan

The Nest Learning Thermostat does what it says and is easy to use. I love the history feature which explains how much heat pump is used versus propane. I got it for my lake house and with its simple app on my mobile I have total control.

I am installed product about 10 days ago. My heat pump has an emergency heat function and I had to figure out that the new thermostat did not have that. There was no problem problem installing it once I figured it out. I am very pleased with the product.

The whole experience with ecobee has been more than I expected. I needed a smart heat pump thermometer to monitor and control the house temperature; on-site and remotely. The ease of installation and integration of the camera along with the entry sensors at the front and back doors of the house allows me to have an overall sense of security. The wide-angle view and sense motion plus follow capabilities of the camera are of great value. Thanks for providing your overall capability to interpret the readings and provide notifications from different prospective.

I have an Ecobee3 which is almost the same as the Lite version and it's an awesome product. I control it both from the Android app and Home Assistant on a laptop running Lubuntu. Ecobee keeps improving the software and pushing updates which I really appreciate. There are tons of advanced settings that let me have complete control on my HVAC system. I run it with a 17 year old York heat pump and it was very easy to replace my original Robertshaw thermostat. The extra sensors can be usefull if you have temperature differences between the rooms in your house. The only problem I see with the Ecobee is that it won't support my future heat pump that will have an inverter or some other kind of variable power output. I hope Ecobee can work out something in the future to develop thermostats for modern HVAC systems that don't use a standard wiring.

The fan is a lot quieter than I expected (even on high). I film a lot in my garage and the Texas heat was really pushing the heat limit on my XH2. The cooling fan seems to help a lot. It does get a little hard to maneuver the screen if you have the fan on, and a microphone and power cable attached to the camera, but it is needed for the cooling capabilities so all in all a good buy.
