If someone I knew was buying the hero 12 as I did I would reccomend the purchase of the max lense mod 2.0 with it straight away. The wide angle but with horizon lock in all modes is next level and since it’s waterproof I leave it on my camera until I actually want to take some underwater shots that require the flat lense and switch just for that 5 |

I got the media mod when I got the hero 9 black. Since then I also used it with the hero 10 black and hero 12 black. It is only with the hero 12 black that it can be used with the front and back mics at the same time. Also, it used to make the GoPro freeze on regular basis with the hero 9 and hero 10 black, but not with the 12. Also it is a pain to dismount the folding fingers from the tripod, fold them back, to take out or change the battery. If it had its own folding fingers it would be much better. Another aspect that can be improved is the way you slide the camera inside it which scratches the borders after some time. What is great about it is the sound with both mics with the hero 12 black and that you can attach the light mod and the external display and HDMI. I have not tried an external mic. The only way to overcome the difficulty to change the battery is to use it with the Volta or another external power bank. 5 |

The design is much better than Hero 8 black. The Go Pro company give hero 8 black with new battery door. Bad design..... you have to open the battery latch to be able to connect the Hero 8 with external power, which will exposed the battery and micro SD card. It's just stupid design, so stay with Hero 7. 5 |
