Hiding Small Kitchen Appliances

It's so much easier to carry several small rolls of gaff tape in different colors. I use these for hiding mics, labeling gear and audio slates. I still have the big rolls, but for carrying in my grip kit or audio bag, these small rolls do what I need most of the time.

Very simple, yet very effective for hiding lavalier mics and hushing the clothing rustle you might encounter. While these were made for Countryman and other small lavalieres, I have had great results with my Sony ECM-77Bs. These are just a small tube of acoustically transparent foam, and you just cut them to size, stick in the mic capsule, and Bob's your uncle... all done. Not all solutions have to be complicated, and these sleeves belong in every sound-person's kit bag. Cheap, simple yet effective. I wish they made beer that way.
