High Power Wireless Router Review

It's a must have upgrade router in keeping you in the forefront of wireless power that Synology does so well especially for their well know NAS.

I use this to provide backup power for my satellite internet, wireless router and VOIP phone system. Occasionally, it also powers my laptop and external LCD. Works great and has more than ample reserves. Functions out of the box with Apple Macs and seemlessly integrates with Energy Saver in OS X via the included USB cable. No Cons so far.

I bought this AP and a related router to replace an aging consumer grade wireless router which I had. Setting up this AP was a breeze and I'd recommend this to anyone wishing to implement or extend a wireless network in their home or small office. The thing to keep in mind is that this is intended to be mounted on a wall or preferably a ceiling. The router only requires a network cable and you use the included power injector to power the unit. This AP will require some other device to route the traffic from your web provider. Configuration is easy with the Unify controller software installed on your pc. Wait for the AP to power on, load the software on your pc (on the same wired network), and let it look for and provision the AP. You can configure a single combined SSID for 2.4 and 5ghz or separate and configure a guest network if so desired. Once configured, the AP has been running without issue solidly for a few weeks now. I have my PoE injector in my office and plugged into my UPS along with my modem, router, and switch. If the power goes out, all of the wireless and internet access will stay up. Be sure to test all your ethernet cables prior to installing everything. I had multiple issues with the cables I was going to use initially. One cable would only allow a max 100 connection, the other would allow gigabit, but the rj45 connector was able to pull back just enough while connected to cause an intermittent connection. Swapping to higher quality cables solved these issues. I have a 3800 sq ft house in an L shape. This AP is on the second floor in the center of the house. This works well for coverage everywhere and I've even seen coverage in areas where I had little to none previously. I've got it mounted in the ceiling of a hallway next to a smoke detector. It doesn't look too out of place except for the blue glow (which can be turned off). I'd recommend this to anyone that has basic networking and computer knowledge looking for a solid access point.

Such a flexible router for all sorts of applications. Plenty of power for high throughput routing, advanced routing, modify tables, bonding, etc... It can do so so much. Can't recommend this router enough.

We bought this device on the strength of the Consumer Reports review, along with numerous others that consistently ranked this router very highly. It has been running for a couple of weeks now without any issues and have definitely noticed improved range and speed on the wireless signal as compared to our previous router (in some cases we are seeing equivalency in wireless speed with wired devices). In addition, the SRM management system and accompanying app are first class and allow you to easily see what is going on with your network. Finally, the SmartConnect functionality that steers the devices to 2.4 or 5GHz networks has made for a much simpler setup by only requiring a single SSID and allowing the router to do the work of deciding which band is best. Highly recommended!

Great high quality mics, with two independent receivers in a single package it's a great way to get two high quality wireless mics with only one power connector. I tried using a single unit rack mount with four receivers as a space effective solution for wireless mics but unfortunately that didn't work well in my space, so I upgraded to this system. Only two mics instead of four and not a rack mount, but still a good compact solution with MUCH higher quality mics. Receiver is only slightly larger than a single unit receiver. Each unit has independently programmable group and channel, as well as output. But only one power cable needed. It might be nice if there were a combined output connection rather than treating each mic as a separate input to the mixer, but that's a minor issue given the overall high quality of the system.

Great router for the budget minded. No wireless.

I bought this router and paired it to my 2 ubiquiti wireless ap's. Router works great! Highly recommend. Read all the great reviews about it. They aren't lying.
