This don't keep it cool....then may I suggest putting your drive in the freezer.

This 5212 Toaster indeed is a UNBEATABLE copy machine. I tried to copy 33GB of video from the 8bay highpoint 762 tower to a Samsung 840EVO SSD that installed in 5212 Toaster, the copy task completed in 56seconds. Surprisingly fast huh!

The performance numbers claimed by HighPoint seem legitimate. Over 350MB/s reads with a OWC SSD- this is very impressive for a sub $ storage dock: . With these numbers, its not hard to see the advantage over a USB 2.0. The build quality is also quite good - something else I did not expect for a dock in this price range. It also seems to have solid compatibility, as it worked flawlessly with several Seagates and a Hitachi 4TB SATA hard drive. Of not, the power cord is also of a generous length, so no worries about having to rearrange your workspace.

I use this to connect to a HighPoint RocketStor 5322 Dual-Dedicated 6 Gbps eSATA Storage Dock. The purpose I use this setup for is Removable Backup Drives that are stored in the Safe to protect the data from Theft and Fire. I want to make an important note about Windows 8 and the use of this product. - Windows 8 and later shuts your computer down in a Hybrid Hibernation state, so that your computer starts up faster (if your OS is on an SSD it makes no difference in speed). If you leave this option turned on, it will not allow this controller to use the Drives connected to it as hot swappable and you will have many issues. If you turn this option off in Windows 8, everything works perfectly. - To get to this option in Windows 8 to turn it off, go to the Start button then click the magnifying glass for search and type po bu (stands for power button). Under Shutdown settings un-check Turn on fast startup (recommended). Click Save Changes at the bottom and then Re-start your computer. That is it, it will work perfectly now. I did not come up with that fix on my own I contacted HighPoint when I was having the issue and they first saw if they could recreate the issues I was having in their Lab and they were able to and told me they would contact me again when they have the issue resolved. A week later they contacted me and told me this fix for my OS. The issue had nothing to do with their hardware or software but an OS setting and they figured it out for me. I find that a rare thing these days and will Trust this company for future purchases if I need them.

Installed in a 2010 MacPro in a x4 PCIe slot. Needs the Mac driver available from HighPoint. Found that it works under MacOS from 10.6.8 up to 10.12.6, unlike the manufacturers specs. Real world data transfer is around 100mB/sec... about twice as fast as FW800. Only issue TBD is its durability using it daily for external HDD backups. W. Li

This is the best PCIe 16x housing you can find. I use it for Highpoint's SSD71xx RAID cards and am getting very fast read/write speeds. As I can control the fans with their software, the unit is extremely quiet.

This is my 3rd RAID Tower from Highpoint. I started with a thunderbolt, upgraded to the thunderbolt 2 and now this one. Snappy response and pretty easy to setup, take your time and it’s start forward. B&H was great, I ordered and it was here in two days, safely packed!!! Thanks B&H!

I have 8 of these Drives built raid5 in my highpoint Thunderbolt2 na762 storage, it performed flawlessly so far! Great drive for raid storage.
