Perfect. My children can now practice their stringed instruments at their desks or any table without having to set up a regular sized music stand. We love the fact that it is manufactured in the USA.

Action is very close to a stringed piano pedal. Holds the notes well. Great product and price

As spec'd, runs. I use it for Windows File History.

I use this stand (one of five) for overhead miking various orchestral instruments and sections. It is tall enough, with the boom extended, to cover the high winds and strings in a band/orchestra, to supplement a center stereo pair and give better balance with the back row brass and winds. It is skinny enough to be unobtrusive placed in the middle of an orchestra or band. I found a suitable swivel at B&H to hang a stereo bar from a horizontal boom. A boom helps keep the microphones out of the way for video. If you don't need a 9' reach, the 40 reach of this stand might do the trick.
