We use this mic in two venues on our church campus. One is in our Audio/Video recording studio when we are recording live sounding videos for YouTube or Facebook. The other is as overheads for our cymbals within our drum booth. In both application they perform exceptionally. 5 |

I use this for web audio/video. I upgraded from the H4 (which I really liked.) This thing is way better. The external knobs alone are worth the upgrade. The sound is pristine. Even when boosting the audio, there is no hiss. I no longer need to use noise-removal during production. (Assuming a quiet recording environment.)It is also EXTREMELY east to use. No more drilling down through the menu to adjust your input. The mic options are great as well. Both have many uses and sound great. I still prefer the stereo mic for most projects. I also use it for creating video how-to's with Camtasia. The sound is far superior to any headset I've tried. I haven't had an opportunity to use more than 2 inputs at once yet, but looking forward to giving this a try during a multi-mic, live recording. You may not find this in a pro recording studio, but if you are an indie film maker, ENG, web video/audio, you can't go wrong. It's a studio in your hand. Kind of wondering why they put it out before the accessories (power, remote, etc.) came out, but oh well. I'll definitely be picking up the remote and power cable when they come out. 5 |

Using it in our 'home studio' for prosumer-level performance video recording. Working great. Sound level top notch, lightweight, easy to assemble/disassemble. Definitely just right for this level of work. 5 |

Tired of rough quality audio mismatched against the video, the Broadcast Host seemed to fit the bill. Yes, it does. The home studio equipped with this unit suddenly becomes akin to a CNN broadcast. Getting that high quality audio feed from a phone line is always a challenge. After trying just about everything else, from suction-cup bugs to microphones in the headset, the bottom line remains garbage in, garbage out. Now we can set up as many microphones as needed for round table discussions, have the phone line routed to its own channel on the mixer, combine the feeds, and route the mix to anything -- the video camera (a high-end Panasonic unit with XLR inputs), a P.A. system, whatever. HD video paired with enhanced and HQ audio means no more basement quality productions. Record conference calls, higher-education lectures, and anything else where a phone line is involved in the finished product. The Desktop Digital Hybrid actually does what the marketing suggests. Every home studio needs one of these. If you want to produce for Cable Access shows, on-line education programs, interviews for news shows, or whatever else is on your plate, this item should be in the top 3 of planned hardware acquisitions. Bring people into seminars from Europe (without airfare), and have the call sent over a P.A. system for a cafeteria full of people. All that's needed (not included) would be a collection of adapters to go from the unit's output jack into other input styles (XLR, stereo or dual mono 1/4, RCA or USB, etc.). If there is any weakness to the Host unit, it is on the Output side. There is only ONE stereo output (mini F. plug). However, when you find your own signal converters, you have it made for just about any situation. 5 |
