Home Projector Screen Size

This projector is now installed on my ceiling, and is for home theater use with a 100 inch screen. I have had it about a week now and am completely blown away. Until now my only exposure to 3D has been in movie theaters. The HD66 is comparable to this experience, mostly limited by my sound system. You do have to adjust the factory settings but when done WOW. The only negative I have is it requires the use of an adapter (3D-XL) to view Bluray 3D movies. However, for a combined price of less than a grand, it can't be beat. I would highly recommend its purchase by others. 5 |

I purchased this projector for my home golf simulator. Projection onto an impact screen, making my game feel and looking ok like I’m at an Xgolf or swing zone golfing simulator. I can practice all winter and prepare for the upcoming golf season when the weather breaks. Highly recommend this projector! 5 |

This our first home theater projector, and all we can say is wow! We wish we added this to our home entertainment setup far sooner. Crisp, beautiful colors, deep blacks. Just as good in broad daylight as it is in a dark room. The 3000 lumens is a big hit. Like some other reviews have mentioned, it takes a bit to dial-in settings, but once that’s done, it’s a thing of beauty. No different from any quality display. A few things that we especially love: * The flexibility. This is great to travel with on family vacations. The fact that we bring such an awesome display with us on road trips is a game changer! * The built-in speakers make it easy to use it outside for the kids as they enjoy a movie night with friends. * The 4K resolution never fails to impress. * People have mixed feelings on 3D, but our kids LOVE it! Just note: you need EPSON 3D glasses to enjoy 3D. We didn’t know that initially, but worth it when we added the glasses. * Works well with our FireTV cube. * We’re able to shoot the projector off-center (horizontal and vertical) without any significant warp to screen resolutions. Keystone adjustments are easy enough. * It doesn’t get particularly hot and it isn’t noisy, especially on ECO mode. Bluetooth pairing with our Denon AVR-X2500 worked smoothly, but we did experience pairing issues with a Vizio B362 soundbar. YMMV. Also note, if you want a big screen (12’ +) you’ll need to place the projector a roughly the same distance from the screen. This isn’t a short-throw projector. All-in-all, Epson nailed the balance of performance and convenience with this projector package. We love everything about this projector. This is a review for the Epson Home Cinema 3800 projector that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review. 5 |

I have an Epson 5050 for my home theater with a 175 screen. I bought it because I needed the brightness for that screen size, it has very good contrast and I hate the rainbow effect of single-chip DLP. When it came time for a projector for my office video editing suite, I felt the 5050 was overkill on a 150 screen. Reviews on this 3800 were good so I took a chance and I have to say it's great. Good optics, very sharp picture, good image. Contrast not quite as good as the 5050 but close. The 3D capability is awesome. This is an outstanding projector and because it's 3 LCD, no rainbow effect. Plenty bright for a 150 screen too. Very sharp. Love it. 5 |

Needed something to hold my components since we were transitioning from a TV to a projector and screen in our home theater. Always wanted an av cabinet with wheels and removable rear panel to make setup, upgrades, etc, easier, and it's as awesome as I imagined. Sturdy construction, rack standard ensures I can customize it down the road. Couldn't be happier. 5 |

I am using this projector in a home theatre with a 120 screen. I am driving it with a custom built HTPC and it does 3D as advertised. Picture quality is top notch and I keep it set on Eco mode for long lamp life. 5 |

It's our first home cinema projector and is meeting or exceeding almost all expectations in terms of quality of picture (not using a screen) and ease of use. One quibble - having trouble connecting Sonos roam speakers via bluetooth. 5 |

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We watch all things video, but mostly movies. We have Satellite and Off-Air as well as internet streaming. Our first HD TV was a Samsung 56" DLP light bulb rear projection set. It was the best for HD back in 2003. After 10 years though it failed and we purchased a 70" 4K flat screen. At the time there was no large size DLP 4K sets to choose from at a price we could afford. When that set failed last December we had to find something new. Our son still had his 56" Samsung DLP LED rear projection set (he was between homes and was not using it) and we put it in our living room. Wow is all I can say. I had forgotten how great the DLP was or had gotten used to the Flat screen. Seeing this 12 year old DLP still looking great and only HD was amazing. I had seen on the internet that Samsung had come up with a new short throw projector. So I quickly researched it to see what it was about. It was just what i was looking for. We had been wanting to get a large picture size for some time but couldn't justify the cost as our flat screen was working. When it failed it was all on to find the best and largest picture. The 130" screen size was perfect for our living room. Some have said what's wrong with a 36" screen, no comment is all I can say. When purchased the new Samsung projector we purchased a 120" screen designed for Short throw projectors was ordered. It arrived the day before the projector. All of our view is unbelievable, like going to the theater only you don't drive 5 |
