Honda Fit Track Setup

Iphone 8 plus, 2017 Honda Ridgeline cup holder. Great Fit. I can use it without having to remove my Safesleeve phone case.

Soon after I bought the Syrp Genie 3 axis kit which includes the Magic Carpet (Short Track), I had to the opportunity to travel and decide to shoot some time lapses and wanted to take my Gyrp kit. While the rest of the kit was easy to pack, the Track was a different story. Ended up buying the Syrp Case for the track. The quality of the case is great, its not padded as much as I would have expected, but then again the track is pretty sturdy and probably could take some rough use. It is a very snug fit, but allows for room to have the slider piece to be on the track and still fit which is great. Overall a good case for a great product.

Was exactly what I needed to be able to keep track of my sunglasses. Fit perfectly in the sunglass case.

I plugged it in the aux jack in my old Honda, connected it to my iPhone and it works perfectly.

Used this recently to shoot a two mic setup. This was perfect to have one audio track with left and right control on a BMPCC4K. Worked fantastic!

I use this with a Canon 7d for video. The setup was straight-forward and easy to understand (though I did track down some instructional videos on Vimeo). Fine tuning takes some time, but once it is dialed in, it is so smooth. I'm still practicing with using it (and building up more forearm strength in the process), but look forward to get it in on some projects soon.

I used this setup to track the sun during the Great American Eclipse. It was a little difficult to get everything setup and connected properly (the instructions could be simpler), but once I did, it worked well. On Eclipse day, setting up tracking without the pole star visible was tricky. I didn't get it exactly right, but it worked well enough to not need constant adjustment.

This TC is weather sealed, optically good, built strong and maintains the AF and useful for that extra reach - when you need it.... It’s so so steep though. I bought it as a tax write-off but have only used it sparingly. I have not yet come across times when I did need it that often. Only a couple lenses will accept this TC, the 250mm and I think the 120mm only. Gfx 100 users would probably benefit more from the TC as that camera has much better AF and tracking performance than the 50s or 50r. I’m thinking track and field using a MF camera and a TC with the 250mm lens. Possibly Tele landscapes and you really need to get up close like tight sun/moon set/rise shots or wildlife pics. It’s a big big setup though, I found it a bit silly looking when I attached my 250 to a TC & MY 50s with the attached battery grip and the hood on. I think I would be arrested by the police if I pulled that setup out in a public place, it looks like a serious weapon at first glance. Out in the open space of nature or the athletics track the setup would shrink down a bit and look more proportionate to its surroundings. All in all, it works well and will do the job; when it’s finally called upon to do so.....

You get what you pay for with this tripod. It is a versatile, portable tripod that is relatively easy to setup and use. The head is smooth enough to track pretty well and all in all it is what it says it is.

Good - easily fit my tripod. Runs smoothly on the Cinetrac rubber track.
