Hp G5 Docking Station Display Not Working

I bought this to see if I could get dual monitor operation from my HP docking station. It was very easy to install, and after a few display adjustments, went right to work. I am very pleased with the display quality, which I attribute in part to the cables construction. I would purchase this same adapter/cable again for other applications.

I've been using this docking station for the past 5 months working from home and it's been nothing else but a life saver. I have it connected to my HP ProBook 640 G2 work laptop (via USB 3.1), two Dell U2515H montiors running at 1440p/60Hz (via DP) and to my Gigabit home router and it's been working flawlessly, without ever having to restart it once. If anything, my only reservation would be its price tag.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this laptop with the idea of replicating what I had at work. We have the G5 series at work with a docking station and two monitors. And, the laptops at work, which are relatively new, are so fast. Well, this one is faster. I bought the G6 series laptop, a docking station (works with both the G5 and G6 series), and two monitors - just like at work. Now if I want to work from home, I pop out the new personal laptop, pop in the work laptop, and I'm in business. This new laptop is nice and highly recommended. And, it's fast. And way better than the Dell desktop I was living with before (absolutely no comparison). No problems so far, and I don't expect any.

I was able to attach three monitors to my Dell Inspiron 17 - 3780 Laptop but I needed two display port to HDMI cables to attach my two HDMI monitors - and when connecting to the Display Ports the one HDMI out on the docking station replicates one of the Display Port outputs... combined with using the HDMI out on my laptop and the screen of my laptop I have four monitors now - it would have been nice to attach five if the HDMI out on the docking station wasn't replicating one of the display port outputs... In any case, the universal dock has been rock solid so far.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My first transition from a physical docking station to USB-C docking was not pleasant.... until I bought the HP G5 dock. I'm running a new HP Spectre X360 with the laptop + 2 HP monitors. My first USB-C dock (another brand) was cheaper, but would freeze my extra displays (with the correct setup and drivers). HP to the rescue! I purchased the new G5 dock and had it up and running in less than 10 minutes, including configuration.

If you are looking for an excellent docking station, this one is for you!
