I bought this laptop to replace my 7 year old HP Pavilion laptop. I was happy with the quality of the computer, as well as the Intel processor. It is a beautiful computer at a reasonable price.

I got this for an old hp pavilion 3000 series laptop and it works perfectly to expand the amount of ports you need, the transfer speeds aren't bad either, even with a more modern usb drive.

Replaced the original mechanical 1TB hard drive in our HP Pavilion laptop using the Samsung Migration software. Made an image copy of the old drive, removed the old drive and rebooted into all the content that was there before! Superfast boot, applications open in an instant. The old computer had a slot for the optane cache memory and this fit in the M2 slot with no problems. Like a new laptop for $100 bucks!

I bought a new HP laptop and had trouble seeing the letters on the keyboard. I’m 64 and never learned to type. Know where modt of keys are but periodically i have to look for certain characters HP laptop has white letters on gray keys and NO contrast. Bought this keyboard and mouse and problem GONE. Fullsize

We used this adapter with a 5-yr-old HP Envy 700 (Windows 10, 64-bit) that lacked an HDMI output but had good USB3.0 ports, to connect to a Dell Ultrasharp 27 capable of QHD 2560 x 1440 @ 60Hz. The guidance with the adapter said we might need to update drivers and this was the case, but easy. Everything connected and worked as described, with beautiful results.

Generally speaking, pleased with performance on my 64-bit, Windows 7 laptop, USB 3.0 port. I don't have precise metrics, but the read and write speeds are very impressive for files of all sizes. When I first started using it, I had to reformat it to NTFS so it could take some very large (8GB) files i have. Ergonomically, the retraction mechanism is a little odd and takes some getting used to - no big deal though. I have just had it for a few weeks - so its too early to comment on its longevity and reliability. But my past experience with SanDisk products is excellent.

I have been carrying a 15in 64-bit laptop with a 6.5 A power supply for literally thousand of miles. I have an old Acer Aspire 10 that I have not been using, of course it was slow, but I decided to try the SSD and load it with Linux. The result is a little gem that is more stable and seems to run presentations faster than my big laptop. Of course the smller light weight speedy result is what is great. I can't think of anything negative about the SSD. The things that are not so great are the limitations of the Aspire.

Wanted something rugged for a 17 HP mobile workstation but the 1490 is a bit too small. For a large form factor notebook you're better off with the 1495. But this is a great product -- very rugged and a perfect way to schlepp a 15 notebook in a trunk or the back of an SUV.
