I have three 6TB G-Raid drives I use to back up file based video content. The e-sata connection makes transferring files in both environments very fast. I have never had any problems or failures. Just in case, having a three year warranty from G-Tech is a great safety net. I do hope the newer versions of this drive will support USB 3.0 and Thunderbolt...

This product is very simple to use. If you have a PC die but still need to retrieve data from the SATA drives then just plug them in to this device and your all set. What makes this even better is that it does not matter if it is a 2.5" or a 3.5" drive.

ordered three, one was doa with click of death and not passing smart tests, but quickly replaced by BH. first time ive had a seagate that was doa always had good luck with them lasting forever. regularly get the advertised throughput of 240-300 meg/sec with them. i only have them on a sata ii 300 meg controller, not that they would work faster on sata iii. only issues is they are noticeably audible, not ridiculous but more so then the drives they replaced, and enough to turn my dogs head in wonder. so they are good in workstations or machine rooms, but might cause distraction if used when background noise is an issue such as recording with Mics in the same room. also, as is typical with hard drives they are exactly 6 trillion bytes, your machine will say they are 5.5TB. still around 10.6TB raw in a 3 drive raidz pool, and with compression even better. CMR per seagate.

I purchased two Seagate Ironwolf 4TB 5900 rpm SATA III drives at a great price for my Synology DS220J NAS running RAID 1 SHR based on their reputation and compatibility with my NAS. So far, there have been no issues. They run at a cool 26C and I am happy with their performance. I don't find the Seagate Ironwolf drives to be any noisier than their other counterpart NAS drives.

We installed these drives on our Dell workstation computers as replacements for the SATA drives that came with the system. The workstations now have a quick boot time & the performance in Windows 10 Pro is substantially quicker. I'd highly recommend this product for any PC user that's looking for a performance boost in the older systems.

After replacing my Mac G5 with the new Mac Pro I had a couple of internal SATA drives that were full of archived work and active files. The RocketStor RS5212 was the perfect solution.
