Hp Windows 8 Laptop Microsoft Update Issue

I use this to make system images on Win 7 Pro... before I do windows update (just to be safe, because, you know, microsoft). Priced right and works for me. Generally takes two of these to make a system image of my C: drive with 115 GB on it. Good safety net. 5 |

We had an issue with an old adapter for a 3rd monitor Setup after a recent Windows Update. After we could never get it to work consistently and 2 different Staff setups. After installation of the StarTech Slim USB 3.0 to HDMI External Video Card Multi Monitor Adapter we have had no more issues. Works Great! You should purchase and purchase from B&H Photo!! No one is better than B&H!!!! 5 |

Without a doubt have been using HP since well forever. The hard part is always letting go of my previous HP plotter because some new update in windows will not let me use. But always buy HP, and from HP, best plotters for Design and Construction industry. 5 |

I recently upgraded the OS on an old Windows laptop from Win 7 to Win 8.1. After the update, I found that the SD card reader in the laptop no longer worked. A BIOS and/or driver update was needed, which the manufacturer no longer supported. This SD to USB reader came to the rescue! Transfer speed is excellent. It is also fully compatible with my UHS-I SD cards and USB 3.0 and 2.0 ports. Highly recommended and five stars! 5 |

This is the monitor I have been looking for to work along with my m1 MacBook and windows work laptop. Have had it since Friday but really put it through the test on Sunday with a full 12 hours data pull for work. All i need is the thunderbolt 4 cable and I automatically receive power of up to 96w and display. I am comfortable with 75hz as I don't game but that may be a downside for some people who do. Setup was simple and took less than a minute. Having one cable do all the work minimizes clutter. It has a super resolution mode so text and colors pop. Great for editing my photos on light room. If you're looking for one monitor like me this is an absolute beast. Multiple windows working simultaneously. Only issue I have is the 5k resolution option on M1 Macbook as the text and applications are way too small. I hope apple introduces layout scaling as my hp work lap top allows me to use 5k with text and image scaling. It troubles me but something I can live with. Other than that it seems to be holding up. I will say although not sure if it was my windows laptop but I it blacked out on me twice during the 12 hour work time, both times were a good 3 seconds. As for my Macbook haven't had that issue. 5 |

When Microsoft banned computer hardware that didn't have the TPM chip and therefore would not run Windows 11, I said, That's it. Fool me once Microsoft. shame on you... What's to stop Microsoft from doing this again in the future? I began looking at alternatives and decided that running Windows 11 as a Virtual Machine (VM) inside a product called Parallels Desktop on a Mac was the way to go. I'm one who always assembled his own PC's and keeping my budget at $1000 for the box (no new monitor, keyboard, mouse, external devices) BUT, if I was going to run Windows 11 inside of my new Mac, the Mac had better be on the robust end of the spectrum. My former Macs have always had 8 to 16GB of RAM which was adequate for my usage. But since Windows 11 doesn't thrive until reaching 16GB, I decided that 32GB should be fine with this new Mac (it's perfect) Next, storage. VM's require a lot of storage space. I'm running a Windows 11 VM, Mac Sonoma (this is an additional Mac VM) and a Linux VM. My Mac now has 850GB free on a 2TB drive. Yes, get the 2TB storage! I have no storage insecurity which counts for a lot. Perhaps I'll try moving the VM's to external storage someday but I don't have resources for trying experiments now - using RAID arrays, etc. So now I have an expensive Mac (it's all relative, I know). I justify it by saying that I was going to have to buy my $1000 Windows box anyway plus I wanted the new Mac silicon. Installing Parallels Desktop and the Windows 11 VM is mostly an automated experience. Everything is fast. 5 |
