Hurricane Irene Weather Underground
Joe the surfer | 2024-07-05 06:53:18 |
When hurricane Irene hit our coast, I missed some of the best surf conditions during the year because i was on call carrying a pager. I needed a way to bring my pager out in the water. The solution is the DUS-1 Beeper Bag. I put my pager in a zip lock bag and into the Beeper Bag. The Beeper Bag goes into my camel bak. It works great. I can hear my pager go off while in the surf. I don't have to worry about my pager getting wet or missing a page. 5 |

This product is great! I was stuck in Hurricane Sandy's weather for a week and half shooting network news coverage. Minimized fogging, protected my eyes and viewfinder and was comfortable against my face for hours of shooting. And it didn't even blow off in 75+ MPH winds. 5 |

Great for when its raining. I do not have the guts or money to risk a hurricane. 5 |

Great vest. I'm using it in an underground coal mine. It's like having an extra pair of hands. It distributes weight evenly. I use it for batteries, flashes, all sorts of accessories. There are no pockets for big lenses, but that's O.K. It would make the vest too heavy and cumbersome. It's pretty good at repelling lime and coal dust and water and is not likely to tear easily. Pockets are lined with soft material, which is easy on lenses. These vests are a little pricey, but worth it. They're professional gear and are made for rugged use. 5 |

So far so good! Using as a backup power supply for an underground dog fence and so far is working great. 5 |

We mostly use it to protect our lens for our camera at work, being as we drag the camera through steam tunnels, in mud trenches, inside underground vaults, and through all sorts of other environments. The filter screws on firmly to the end of the lens and protects the lens from scratches, dirt, dust, etc. without distorting any of the pictures. 5 |

I use 50+ of these routinely for delicate electronic sensors that are buried underground in very wet Florida environments for over 6 months at a time. I love the color-changing pattern on the exterior of the pack that let's me now when it's due for replacement or refreshing in a microwave. I used to use the metal type that needed to be baked for 3 hours, but those too long to replenish and were small in comparison. 5 |
