I3 8100 Gaming Computer

was looking to upgrade from my i3 8100, this was on sale and gave me 3x the number of cores. has been a great upgrade so far.

People assume it won't be good for gaming since it's an i3. But this one has Turbo boost up to 4.3GHZ, which is pretty good for gaming. I can play Modern Warfare in Max settings with high FPS. Definitely recommend this processor if you're trying to cut costs on your PC build.

I picked out the i3 quad core mini with 8GB of RAM with the intention of using it as a media center computer to drive my 4K tv. Even though it is a pretty low spec the machine is very snappy and can display 4k60 video for hours without any hiccups. I was a little worried about whether 8GM of RAM would be enough, but so far the system only uses about 6-7GB of RAM for my needs. The computer never gets that warm and I can't hear any fan noise when sitting about 8 feet away from it.

I bought it for my use, but my son uses it for his gaming computer. Love it!

I have used the 8100 for a month now...Works like a charm! Unlike other reviewers, I have had no problem with SilverFast..Takes a little getting used to, but no big deal. Have copied about 250 slides so far. they do need a little touch-up with Photo Elemments...

I bought the OpticFilm 8100 to digitize my old 35mm slides. It does an awesome job. I followed the WorkflowPilot in the SilverFast 8.0 (the software comes with the OpticFilm 8100) and using the highest available resolution (7200dpi) it took 4 minutes and 48 seconds to produce the best possible scan. The software is designed to take into consideration the color issues of older slides and will automatically try to correct with the Histogram option. 9 times out of ten this correction is spot on, but sometimes you need to tell the software to ignore. However, 10 times out of ten, I tell it to ignore the Gradation - it always tends to over-saturate the colors. There are other options like Selective Color Correction where you and adjust hue and saturation by themselves that are useful at times. Keep in mind that using the 7200 dpi you'll get a monster-sized file a 100 MB or larger, but that works if you're planning on printing. At the 1800 dpi it took 35 seconds and produced a 10 MB file which would be good for web. There is also a mid range of 3600 dpi that fits in the middle of both time to scan and file size, so you have 3 good options. I am VERY pleased with my purchase and will get good use from this device and included software.

Works great for holding slides, no issues at all. Worth the purchase if you have a 8100 or 8200 scanner.
