I5 Gaming Computer Builds Under 600

The i5 is more than enough. I am no computer expert, but it does everything i want and fast

Asus has been a good motherboard for me for many computer builds

Can't be more happy. Best pc I have build so far. Going forward all my builds will be tuf gaming

I've purchased five of these so far for various builds, some for gaming others for productivity, and they are easily the best combination of performance and price you will find currently. Especially if you pair them with a budget B550 board and inexpensive 16GB DDR4 kit which can be had for much less than boards supporting similar generation offerings.

This was used to replace my wife's 27 Dell gaming monitor which performed fantastic, but died with vertical lines starting and growing to be worse and worse. She is not a gamer, but the color is great with this IPS monitor, and it does not have glare issues like most monitors do these days. I swear that whoever builds this unit also builds the Dell she had before - they both seem very similar.

I was a little concerned about choosing the i5 quad core processor over the i7 that I had in my previous HP computer as I utilize a few adobe programs at a time. So far, I have no complaints with the overall speed, and can't really tell a difference. The screen is also smaller than my last which I was worried would be an issue but I honestly love the portability of this computer!  The Touch Bar is actually way cooler than I ever expected it to be, I think Mac has done a poor job of promoting its capability. And the integration with my iPhone is really awesome. They work together seamlessly and made setup a breeze as it sent a lot of data over to my computer. I was a little disappointed that it took longer to ship out than originally advertised especially since I chose to buy through B&H specifically because they had the earliest arrival date. I ultimately lost out on an entire day of work which cost me additional money, but considering the current climate, I understand and prefer to support local business over large chains. I've only had great experiences with B&H thus far. I just hope in the end this laptop outlasts my previous (also very expensive) laptop. Only time will tell.

The SSD drive is everything. This computer is so fast my head spun around. My old computer has the I5 processor too but not a SSD drive for start-up files and what a difference that makes. I also upgraded my RAM from 8gb to 16 gb and that made this computer way faster! Wait till you see the keyboard. Insane

I have a 4th Gen i5 unit that's a kind of a, "Shop," computer, used to look up machine shop specs & plans, order parts & tooling, keep track of customer data, job status, etc. It's nice to have the machine in the shop, rather than have to run into the office every time; I waste a lot of time if I have to run back & forth. The SSD has made the, "Shop," computer quite a lot faster.

Thoroughly impressed with overall speed of computer. Previously I was on an i5 machine and can now render work in premiere pro at least 4x faster.
