[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Kingston IronKey Vault Privacy 50 series are made to be lightweight and sturdy. It also supports USB 3.2 for fast data transfer. The transfer speeds on Linux, Windows and Mac OS X systems is very pleasing. I must set a password to use this device. I can also use it by entering the password whenever this device is connected to the PC. This device can safely store documents or data that require security.

I use it to back up sensitive and regular data, so I use the password protection thing. -I have owned 4 WD passports for 2yrs and 3 My Books for 4 yrs; none has failed me thus far. -I also like the security feature, and the SmartWare has improved a lot with a much friendlier interface vs earlier versions. NOTE: I do manual backup so don't know about the reliability of the auto feature. Needs improvement: may be a good idea to have a password recovery disc capability like Windows 7.

If you’re looking for a way to store a lot of data, but dont want to buy a server rack this is the right product for you. The 1821 has enough slots to meet my needs for the forseeable future and the cpu has enough punch to run my 10 docker containers. I would recommend you buy extra RAM as that helps with system performance. The synology operating system takes a little bit to get used to, but it works well enough.

This is a cheap way for me to augment server storage for data which is seldom-accessed but needs to be available 24-7. I bought a couple and copied one to the other for redundancy. I've been using WD external drives for years and they are dependable and a decent value considering how much storage capacity they deliver. I have yet to see one crash or malfunction.

this is a grate product I been using for a week. and there is nothing to say bad about the unit at all there is nothing that aren't great about it besets system hands down without a doubt I use this project for my network storage server in a data server room for all my data storage needs. and I also it for a not this backups of are hole network we use this for backup services I been using synology for over 6 years and they have great customer service with one of the outstanding customer support with there company they have if anyone happens to it. take it form me I know I been with synology for years not once had a problem with the unit at all I strongly recommend this project for anyone want have a way to store there data for a home user or a business user. This project is grate for anyone with IT knowledge About network Storage system like this.

Got it for my home server that runs 24/7 under constant data transfer and heat stress. It's speed and power is amazing large files are no longer a bane to my existence. Time will tell if it's tough enough to survive under these extreme conditions.

I use these 1 foot power cords within the data center to keep power cords from blocking cooling fans at the back of the server. By using the shorter cords I can manage the cables in the back so there is no mess or bundle of cables that always end up blocking air flow. It keeps it neat and clean.

I built a new server to store my data for my Mac & Windows machines. The server is built on an 8 year old Windows desktop with software called Rockstor. I was able to install the complete server software, add my new 8GB drive and was off and storing all my data in about 2 hours. The software is great and it's FREE. The drive gives me a great deal of room to store all of my data and access the data from both Mac & Windows.
