Imac Bluetooth Keyboard Repair Instructions

My original Mac Keyboard I have been using for probably well over 20 years. When I started experiencing problems with a random repeating key, I felt I needed to repair it because Apple no longer makes this model. Well, my repair did work for a month or so but the old problem returned. Other generic keyboards just did not cut it. Probing into the B&H Website, I found the Matias duplicate of the original Mac keyboard. I was a little reliant to purchase it but felt it couldn't be any worse than what I was using. To make a long story short, I love this keyboard. The only difference between it and the original is the slightly different key pressure feedback. It is not as soft as the original but to me it is winner.

Owning an iMac is special and expensive to purchase. Notice there are no screws thus very pricey to repair. Add software support for a total of 3 years and you have a product that just makes good sense to own.

This is a must buy item for anyone owning an iMac. Although the product iMac is solid, all it takes is one repair issue and this has more than paid for itself. Having the ability to call for tech support for three years anytime you get stuck with OS software issues, or airport setup questions, you're covered and the techs I've dealt with have solved my problem. B&H has a better price than most places, too.

Read the fine print. This uses Bluetooth LE, and that requires an iPad3 or better. After wondering why it didn't work with either iPad2 here, I found that tidbit (which I had missed) in the fine print, hemmed, hawed, and opted to upgrade the iPad side of the system. It is a quality product, which on the one hand seems quite pricey for what is effectively a 2 button bluetooth keyboard, but on the other hand is much better made than whatever I might kludge up from a cheaper bluetooth keyboard with many more keys. The keys are lit, soft, and silent, and the device is considerably more affordable than some others in its niche - and with the keys on top, not over the edge, it works fine on carpets (some reviews indicate that is a weakness of some competing devices.) For hands-free page turning it really is ideal. Intended for foot operation, it is a bit larger than you'd expect from the pictures.

I use the KVM in a computer repair business, it allows me to have just one monitor and keyboard/mouse and work on multiple computer at once. It has good connections and the cable setup is great.

I have missed having a tactile keyboard for my iMac. I now type much faster with less mistakes.

This keyboard works well with my Dell laptop. Easy Bluetooth connectivity.
