In Ear Monitors Best Isolation

Wouldn't have believed it, but I sure do now. I'll never go without isolation pads for any of my monitors. Enough said.

Best sounding cans ever. Great isolation for studio work.

I love these headphones. As stated in the title, I replaced my Shure SE215 in-ear monitors with these. I used Shure IEM's for traveling because of the high sound isolation provided by the triple flange ear tips. I decided to go a different direction with these because all my other headphones are Sony and I've always preferred the sound of Sony. I use Sony IEMs and Sony over-ear headphones for producing, mixing, and mastering music to give you an idea of my sound preference and experience with critical listening. The noise cancellation in the WI-1000XM2 is very comparable to the sound isolation of the Shure's. I would say with the proper fit, the noise cancellation is better, unquestionably in the low frequencies. The sound of the WI-1000XM2 is excellent. Slightly bright but not overbearing and certainly not lacking in bass. Detailed, clear, and balanced. I've already used them for traveling and love them, especially on planes. This is my first neckband headphone and it doesn't bother me. I might even say I prefer it as they can remain around my neck without constant stowing. Also, the cords to the earpieces are short won't tangle :) The build quality is excellent. I highly recommend them!

As the title says, I had the velour pads by Auray on my MDR-V6's and in terms of comfort they were amazing! But with the increase in comfort my V6's lost some sound quality because the velour pads had not so great isolation. That is where these ear pads come into play. Not only are they comfortable for long listening sessions, but the sound isolation is amazing compared to the stock ear pads and way better than the velour pads. And with the boost in isolation, the sound quality from the V6's has been boosted as well! My only gripe with these ear pads is in the same boat as the rest of the reviewers, the ear pads are a pain to install. But the installation process is minimal to worry about because the pads are so good once they are fitted onto the headphones.

Great sound and great sound isolation, plus the package deal with the case and ear pad upgrade is a win!

I have been using a similarly priced set of in-ear headphones for about 5 years and have been very happy with them. With some upcoming travel, I wanted to look into a setup with better passive isolation and kept coming back to the SE215 in all of my research. These sound incredible for the price, and I am really enjoying the sound isolation! Bass response is nice and tight and helps maintain a lot of clarity at lower volumes. I would definitely buy these again.

Easy to install, great isolation and seemingly much sturdier construction than the original ear pads- plus cheaper than the Sennheiser replacements! Win win win.

Very good sound isolation compared to all headphones I've previously owned. Managed to sleep through an entire transatlantic night flight while regular cabin noises (including a crying infant) were isolated with the aid of relaxing ambient music. Sound bleedthrough is not a problem with volumes at normal levels. It comes with a carrying case and additional ear tips. The wire loops around your ear, which takes some getting used to, but it doesn't bother me.Only downside I could think of, is that the bass could be little stronger.

The sound isolation is superb. It worked SO well, I actually used them as hearing protection on helicopters (Chinooks are FREAKING LOUD!!!). The sound is superb. I bought these while in Afghanistan. They survived many missions and trips, I use them in my civilian manual-labor job daily, I use them to exercise daily, they've been through two washing machine cycles, so believe me when I tell you they're rock-solid (except I'm on my third cord but that's OK since I'm so hard on them). After easily 1000+ hours of music they still sound fantastic (especially for the price point). The way the cord wraps around your ear, coupled with the foam sleeves secured in your ear, prevent these from coming out of your ear even when tugged hard. The modular construction, being the cord and foam sleeves, is perfect and has helped solidify Shure as my headphone/earphone brand of choice!
