Indie Band Using Jazz Instruments

Recorded eight piece jazz band into my Tascam, no hums or glitches of any kind.

Came home from shooting a jazz band in a dark club in Bangkok and found that my 50mm Summicron with built in hood no longer sported its Leica pinch cap which must have fallen off and rolled away unnoticed into the shadows. This cap is a perfect fit, just tight enought, and I'm sure it's not going to do a runner like its distiguished predecessor. I like it so much that I ordered two more from B&H for my 90mm Tele-Elmarit-M and my 135mm Tele-Elmar respectively, both of which have rather annoying detachable hood and lens cap combinations that make them rather fiddly to change and the stock lens cap doesn't fit without the hood. If you want to avoid the hassle of these hoods, the Kaiser 40mm push on cap is the ideal replacement.

I play drums in a Blues / Jazz jam band. I needed a simple stand for a Shure SM57 microphone to record the kick drum. Other short stands with a boom have to be contorted to line up with the resonant head's port hole (8 from floor to dead center). Coupled with a standard Shure mic clip, the Auray stand is perfect! The weight of the base is substantial and the price is right.

I am an audiophile who enjoys spending evenings immersed in jazz, classical, big band, classic rock ... a wide range and wide variety from my recorded collection and subscriptions. I could not justify professional headphones, but these are PERFECT for those occasions when the rest of the household does not want to hear my music.

Using the 10-18mm on my 7dmii at a jazz show gave me very good video results. I was 10 from the stage was able to capture the singer and a 4 piece band. This was my first time using it and I was able to capture more than I would have with my 17-40 L f4. I did pump up the ISO to 2000 to 3200, with excellent results.

Using this cable to power a SmallHD Indie 7 off of a tilta bp to v-mount adapter for the red Komodo. Works great.

Using these for measurement as well as acoustic instruments. Great quality, the craftsmanship of Earthworks shows in these fantastically matched pair. Also a great price if you are a student/educator.

Using as a multi-track home recording situation. I record multiple instruments(guitar, keyboards, synths, electric drums)live into garageband and everything sounds great. Only odd thing about it is that there's no power switch, but this is not an issue once you hook it up to an outlet with a switch.

Everything an indie filmmaker could wish for, this thing does.

Using them on par 38 cans for band lights. Very good quality with wide selection of colors. I will buy again if I ever wear these out....
