Indie Songs That Happen To Contain Wind Instruments

Recording vocals and acoustic instruments for TV and film production songs.

Listening to the songs that I've heard dozens of times before I am still hearing notes and instruments that I never could detect before.

I have heard things I have never before with this… background kids in songs, laughter and instruments I didn’t know were there. A little too sensitive. When I’m wearing my hair down, sometimes it stops the music. Great buy anyway

This has made such a difference in the quality of my sound recordings for my indie films. If you have ever attempted a serious recording outdoors with the slightest wind, you know how frustrating it can be to shoot a visually stunning scene, only to have it trashed by unwanted wind noise. I use a Sony MKE 600 shotgun on the Rycote shock mount, which is great for deadending vibrations. With the included Dead Wombat over the Blimp, recordings are very clean even in windy situations. I haven't tried it in a hurricane, but for outside shooting in general you will be very happy with your results using this product. It is built and designed very nicely from quality components, including a Mogami cable on the shock mount. It's one of those things you get and wonder how the hell you could live without it!

I use this mic to record string and wind (brass mostly) instruments.  The different patterns make it effective in a variety of spaces depending on whether you want to reject other sounds or include reflections.  Versatile and great sound quality.

I like wind instruments. This is that and so much more. Nice features make playing sound like the real thing. Tried it all but haven't used it as a midi controller yet

I use this on outdoor shoots and it does everything it should. However, on extremely windy days you will still hear wind noise, its going to happen. But for days with mild to moderate wind, this is your best protection.

I use B+W filters on my lenses because they are possibly the best you can buy. My lenses are rather expensive, and things happen (wind blowing sand off the construction site, small children putting fingers on the lens, hair spray in the air during fashion shows etc). A filter is cheap insurance, and these do not compromise the image quality! I have been using B+W for years (almost 30) Wonderful Product !

I fill the bags with pea gravel. It gives the necessary weight without the mess. If you do any location work, then you know that things happen; like the wind, people not watching where they are going (assistants), or shooting on unlevel ground. The bags are inexpensive compared to gear, and it's just wise to have several bags handy; i,e, at least one for each stand.
