Install Samsung Evo 850 250Gb In Laptop

I cloned this Samsung 256GB SSD 850 PRO drive from my Samsung 250GB SSD 850 EVO drive using my backup software. The system started with no problems. If this 256GB SSD 850 PRO is as fast and reliable as the 250GB SSD 850 EVO it is replacing, I will be extremely satisfied. Also, the PRO has a 10 year limited warranty. The 250GB SSD 850 EVO will replace the hard drive in my wife's laptop.

Fit the Samsung Evo 850 perfectly so I could duplicate my existing hard drive.

Used with an samsung evo 850 to mount it to a hotswap server. worked as expected, product doesn't have sharp edges and the metal is nice and thick so no flex.

It really works with mid2011 imac. I am using samsung 850 evo with it. Only problem was, stuffing extra cable, around the disk. That kind of tedious but you cant avoid it. People who buy this, also needs to buy a adaptadrive for installing everything togather. That product also works.

This SSD is way faster than my old 850 EVO SATA drive

This is now the third Samsung 850 PRO SSD that I have purchased. First my laptop (7 year old MacBook Pro) now flies. Then the 3 year old Mac Mini boots in 40 seconds! I am now transferring the hard drive contents from my wife's 5 year old iMac and I expect fantastic results. Given the 10 year warrantee from Samsung I may never have to buy another! I have gotten transfer rates approaching 7 GB / Minute! JR

Pros: Very fast startup, Very easy to install using Samsung's Data Migration Software. I installed the 850 PRO by migrating my boot HDD to the 850 PRO and replacing the HDD (my C: drive) with the much faster 850 PRO. Everything went very smoothly in my Windows 10 AMD desktop. Cons: Samsung could do a better job on instructing the user on how to prepare the system prior to the start of data migration. For example there should be a set of instructions informing the user to make sure the AHCI driver is loaded on the Windows 10 system prior to the start of data migration. If you don't use AHCI you will not get the maximum performance from your ssd. If you install the AHCI driver after migrating the data to the ssd and then replacing the hdd with the ssd, you may lose the ability to boot the computer from the ssd. Windows 10 does not install the AHCI driver in a fresh install of Windows 10. Samsung should have step by step instructions on what to do to make sure we get best performance for which the ssd was designed.

Just purchased my Samsung 850 Pro 512GB and install was as it should be. Will finally have the storage needed for more than one game and other needed storage. I think I'm going to be Happy, Happy, Happy!!!

I now have multiple Samsung products: phone, laptop, internal and externa SSDs. The hardware has been consistently excellent...zero complaints. So far, the 970 Evo SSD recently purchased is purring along as I have come to expect. NO disappointments here! I purchased a Galaxy Book Pro 2 with only a 256GB SSD with the intentions of replacing it with a 1TB drive. I got the best of both worlds when to my pleasant surprise, B&H gave me a gift certificate for $100 with the purchase of the laptop. I then applied that to the cost of the 1TB 970 Evo....coming out way ahead and have a much faster SSD that would have come installed in the laptop. I most certainly would highly recommend this product!
