Install Tv Wall Mount Above Fireplace

We purchased this TV mount to enable the TV to extend beyond the end of a fireplace. The TV is recessed in a pocket between the fireplace and a window. This mount allows us to telescope and turn the TV so all can see beyond the fireplace. I consider the unit exceptionally well-constructed and designed. The mounting kit contains a variety of fasteners to anchor the unit to the wall. In our case, we needed our own lag screws to secure the frame to the stud pattern on the wall. The unit is is rather ornery and cumbersome to install. Plan on two people to install. The mounting template works well. But it is important to measure the mounting slots in the unit's frame to ensure the one's chosen align with the wall stud's locations. I recommend using a level and drawing a centerline for the fasteners to follow. Pre-drill holes into the wall studs. I strongly recommend not mounting through the drywall with plastic expansion anchors. There will be a lot of bearing on a material that is not designed for long-term structural integrity. We use all of the mount's 40" extension. It certainly meets our needs.

It comes with instructions, but there is a video that will help you install it which is a huge help. My advice is to use two people because it's rather heavy and it makes installation go smoothly. Once it was in place my 70-inch TV was ready for the test. You can pull the TV down and push it up when you're finished. I am not sure how it works but the ease of using the up and down and tilt features is so smooth. You don't need both hands to do this with most mounts, this glides with really a touch of your finger. It's perfect for those who have a specific way of wanting to watch TV. My boyfriend likes it tilted and pulled down me I like it up and turned a bit. So we compromise and switch off while watching our shows. It is perfect for the wall above the fireplace or I don't see why you need a fireplace you could use this TV Mount on any wall. I highly recommend it.

Using it to mount my tv over a stone fireplace.

After that mounting the tv was a breeze. I’m able to move my tv with the tip of my finger. You can’t tell it’s there. The tv can be pulled out a little or moved around which is amazing. I highly recommend this mount due to the ease of putting it up, the durability and high quality material make this a staple for any house that wants to mount the tv above the fireplace. 10/10 recommend

We have a very deep set wall bc of a massive stone fireplace that extends over 24” from wall in main living area We did NOT want to have TV in the mantle but the TV was not viewable for all in room if guests were watching sports with us This mounting allowed us to pull and pivot past the fireplace and still stow it back and out of sight when not in use. Fantastic !!

I have these weird coves next to my fireplace that make it impossible to see a tv from everywhere in the room with any traditional stand or wall mount. These one worked perfectly and is extremely sturdy. It may be the only one on the market that would. A few things. Be careful with the socket wrench putting it up since the powder coat can chip and it did for me. The next is remember to oil the extension arm or it will not move with weight on it. Also make you understand where your studs are in the wall. I have a bay window in the room behind this corner and none of the wall construction cases in the instructions actually applied to my wall. This is a good one put might take more thought to put up.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This Mount It fireplace mount is perfect!! It is very sturdy and you can put the tv at almost any angle based on where you want to sit to view and or for reducing glare on the tv of it is close to a window.

Easy to install and looks very well built. I used it to hang 65 inch samsung tv over my fireplace.

Good solid mount. Very easy to install. The only thing I didn't care for, was how close it put the tv against the wall. It was hard to plug anything in the outlet. I went to a big box store and purchase some one inch square tubing. I matched the Versa mount holes and purchased longer bolts. This brought the tv out enough to where I can easily access the plugs. You could paint the tubing black, but I just left it bare because you can't see it unless your face is tight against the wall.
