I have never seen/heard a speaker like this before! This is truly next level. I can hear every single instrument in the music I play on it- it's incredible. Though I received my first ever noise complaint from this thing when I got it, I love everything about it! Why won't my neighbours let me be free?! #Squares

How does the radial R8001125 (ProRmp) (it converts a line level signal to a instrument level signal?) differ from the HOSA MIT435? Is it correct that a device using and sending a line level signal (like a mixer) is also referred to as a low impedance device (low Z)? Is it also correct that a device using and sending an instrument level signal (like a guitar effects pedal) is also referred to as a high impedance device (high Z)? In other words, a guitar pedal expects a high impedance signal as well as sends a high impedance signal. I'm getting confusing answers.

After 20 years of shooting with professional camera, I can recognize the really special ones. Because a camera is more like a creative companion or muse, not merely a technical instrument, one develops different relationships. Some, relationships are cordial, with good mutual work habits and dependability. Others are founded on hard work together, akin to working partners. Some are at a higher level, due to the respect and continued wonder of the capabilities of a camera. Yet, some are above that. They give you a sense of encapsulated genius, a sense of holding a powerful, potent instrument, that requires a higher level of knowledge and commitment. An awareness, that whatever the flaws, the camera is capable of meeting your demands, and bringing some additional discovery to the endeavor. The Fujifilm 100S, and its well-matched lenses brings that rarest of senses back to the fore. The excitement of having an instrument that advances discovery and that requires your senses to be at their highest level. Once you see the detail and nuance of its 16 bit files, you will understand that you must bring your best efforts, your keenest observations, and your presence to justify the great capabilities of the camera. At a more practical level, compared with large DSLR's, the GFX feels quite comfortable and substantial, and it thankfully doesn't suffer from the barbell feeling that some mirrorless cameras have. The ergonomics of its buttons and switches is not as good as some of Fujifilm's earlier X-bodies, but it is still good, and very customizable. Battery life is decent, autofocus is reasonable, and the IBIS system is good, though it never offers sharpness as acute as using a quality tripod.

I used this mic for extensive testing at different condtions. In the room with one person giving interview. Audio recorded in 4 different ways by taking retakes. In all recordings there was no low cut filter. 1) mic directly attach with 35mm jack to Fuji XT1 Camera. Mic (MKE-440) setting 0db & in camera mic senstivity level 3.This gives 48khz @ 16bit sound file in 'Adobe Audition' (if you load video file .MOV directly in 'Audition'). Audio average at -16db. Need +3db gain in Audition. 2) mic with ' Alzo stereo microphone XLR Adapter Cord for pro camcoders B&H# AL130' to Tascam DR 100 Mk ii audio recorder (B&H# TADR100MKII) using its two XLR inputs (L & R channel). In Tascam recorder audio is 48khz @ 24bit. Sound average at -16db. Senheiser mic senstivity +12db & Tascam pre-amps at 'Medium' satting with analog gain to full (10db). 3) on camera voice was useless. 4) Tascam stereo mic gives -24db voice. Conclusion: in terms of sound quality of the situation 1& 2 above no difference. Only difference on camera (Fuji XT1) record 16bit@48khz & Dedicated recorder (Tascam mkii) records 24bit@48khz. Background noise of AC running was same. Birds noise outside window was masked down at least 12db (as compared to cases 3 & 4) - which is good. MkE-440 Pre-Amps are very good - I say it is real +12db. Other 'senheiser ew 112 system' only gives +6db (pre-amp) and that is single channel (mono). With this mic (MKE-440) both on camera & consumer level audio recorders (with XLR inputs) can produce high quality sound (broadcast level) at 24bit@48khz with average at -12db with peaks at -3db.In the Audio recorder with XLR input make sure you turn off 'Phantom Power'. I suggest Senheiser must put some safety in the mic if someone attach accidently this to XLR (as my case-2 above) with phantom power on this mic should not burn.

It's by far a top notch recorder. Easy to use and the quality in the play back is superior. For the price you can't go wrong at this level. Enjoy!

I use this recorder for school and church and set the record level to Auto. Played back through the tiny on-board speaker, recordings are thin and tinny. However, they ARE full range recordings and when played back through a PC, the full range clarity is revealed. I convert the WAV files to MP3 files, then run them through MP3Gain to normalize the audio.

I was NOT expecting this level of recording quality for the microphone that comes with the recorder. I was indeed expecting the ease of use and overall quality on the recorder, since I have used Tascam before and am used to expect this from their recorders. The included microphone, for this price, displays performance characteristics I did not expect. Great, great product. Tascam is indeed redefining how to use Lavalier microphones. My tests with this package on high-noise environments have convinced me of buying more of these.

I'm a professional sound engineer and composer. I purchased these mics for weddings and interview work. The Tascam DR-10L is a brilliantly clean recorder that has a surprisingly good lav mic attached to it. Here are the things I think you'll love about it, along with a few things to keep in mind. 1. Although there's a handy auto-level setting for quick situations, there is also a way to adjust the gain manually. Yes, you're gonna have to experiment to find the setting that works for you, but don't go off believing that the gain is completely limited to automatic adjustment. 2. I love the Dual Record function. This records a second track at a lower level (you can choose between -6 and -12db) to avoid clipping. This is a very good lifesaver in those situations where you risk damaging your audio because it got too loud. 3. You have plenty of customizable features, such as a low cut, limiter, bit length, file type, mp3 mode, power save, and more. 4. There's a headphone jack to check your audio, as well as a MicroUSB port, microSD slot, and belt clip. 5. B&H included a well-rounded kit to get you started. The batteries are decent and charge pretty fast. I like the design of the charger too - it allows you to charge four AA and four AAA batteries at the same time. A couple things to keep in mind: 1. To record, you have to use the slide-switch on the right side of the recorder. This also doubles as a power on/off switch. Be careful to make sure you're actually recording - I've hit my thumbnail on a plastic piece that guards the record switch. 2. The lav is pretty sensitive. That's kinda standard :) but do be aware that if you're not careful, it will pick up excessive clothing rustling, necklace or chain movement, and the like. So far, I'm pleased with the results of the Tascam DR-10L. I hope you can get something from this review!

After one weekend's use on location, I found the recorder of good value compared to its cost. The low noise characteristic was very useful since I had little need to monitor level, being able to take still photos during the event and modify levels after the event. The fact that I had the analog limiter available made me extra confident. Even though I had AC power available, I also utilized a battery as backup, since location recording is fraught with power issues. Since I was able to utilize long cables and recorded from the rear of the auditorium, the monitoring gain control was useful in matching room level listing with the headphone level. Do not use the MIXPRE-6 II without first doing some test recordings as well as going online and reviewing how others are using the device's features, since the manual itself is not very tutorial in nature.
