Intel Processors Not On Pc Part Picker

With one word of caution. AT THIS WRITING AMD processors support the new PCIE 4.0 standard that this drive operates on. Intel processors are not scheduled to be released that support this new protocol until 2021. I paired this drive up with a non PCIE 4.0 Intel chipset (based on the product's advertisement that it is backwards compatible). I can say truthfully it is not backwards compatible. When I employed this drive I received error, after error, after error from Windows 10, notwithstanding that Samsung has not yet even released a Windows driver for this drive. It used the Windows 10 default 2006 Microsoft driver to operate with. Once I took it out of that system and put in a PCIE 3.0 drive that the system supported, all errors disappeared. Intel processor users will just have to wait until later this years when Intel chipsets supporting this new protocol are are mainstream. 5 |

AMD processors are the best processors that you can buy for the price. They are very dependable and are becoming more powerful than the Intel processors that are in the same generation. I built a powerhouse of a PC using this processor and couldn't be more satisfied. 5 |

I was looking around to see what other manufacturers were doing to creative desktops. Almost all were going to 8 core processors, including Apple. Unfortunately there's no 8 core solution in the 12th gen of Intel, so the logical choice was to go for 12 cores. So far it runs Lightroom, Photoshop, some gaming, and Office without any issues. The stock cooler is also very quiet compared to previous generations. It does get warm, so make sure your BIOS fan controls are configured properly. Asus surprised me with enabling enhanced perfomance by default, but after setting back to the default Intel values, it runs just fine and cooler. 5 |

First time building my own PC, I used this case with PCpart picker and it fits everything perfectly. It's got a wonderful little back panel section to run wires through a non-visible section of the case that helps make everything inside look nice and pretty. Seems super durable, all the sensitive (glass and plastic) surfaces come with plastic on them to protect them while shipping. Super solid feeling and honestly just feels like a high quality case. Steal of a deal! 5 |

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I put the Samsung 980 Pro 2TB drive in a tiny Intel NUC PC with the Intel i5 12400 processor. What a revelation - I expected speed, but the SSD let me do file functions instantly. Everything was extremely snappy including opening Canon CR3 RAW files in Photoshop and importing them into Lightroom CC. I'll soon build a tower Windows PC and will choose the Samsung 980 Pro again. 5 |

Not the cheapest, but much less than the current gen processors. This is still plenty of power for a gaming pc. Don't overspend on the current gen! 5 |

The Intel NUCs hit in (almost) every way for a mini PC. If you can use a small but powerful machine, definitely consider one of these. Here at B&H I got the barebones i3 kit (without the drive or any memory) and installed MS Windows, memory, and the drive myself. Two tips for self-installers based on the other reviews: 1) Pressing the power button for three but *not* four seconds takes you to a menu allowing you to set options like boot order, make sure LAN is turned on, etc. 2) If installing Windows 11, you might only need to download the wireless driver to a USB and run the driver installer from there after Windows install to get connectivity. Afterwards, Windows Update will help you take care of the rest of the drivers, BIOS updates, etc. 5 |

Microsoft's PC Health Check informed me that my 6-year old PC with an Intel I7 was not able to upgrade to Windows 11 for a number of hardware related reasons. I look at similarly configured PCs as to what I had and a new system would run well over $2K. I bought this bundle, 32GB of memory and a 1TB NVME SSD for about $750. Everything was very simple to install, and if you have any questions, there are loads of Youtube videos showing how to install this combo. The motherboard recognized the CPU without needing to flash the BIOS and in less than an hour I pretty much had a brand new system, much faster than my old one, for 1/3 the price. Total score. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this bundle. 5 |

Since the mid 1970's we have built and maintained PC's and Servers. We are a Boutique System builder and build in small quantities. We need quantity components because all of our Servers and Workstations are warranted for 4 years. Started using SSD's when Intel first introduced them but switched to Samsung after we were having early Intel SSD failures. Samsung has been terrific with a very low failure rate and virtually zero after the first 30 day infant mortality period. 5 |
